Re: Heavy Duty PVC Tonneau Cover for Singlecab Pick Up

Pics, hopefully show what you need.  Not as neat as the NLAVW one but it suits my purposes as I can stretch it over loads of waste and awkward size/shape machinery.  I do think it needs another support adding and I need to adjust the angle of the bracket on cab rear (been on the to do list for ages!...

Re: Heavy Duty PVC Tonneau Cover for Singlecab Pick Up

I got mine from The Tarpaulin Company (online tool for designing your own cover) although to be fair it's not as 'fitted' as the NLAVW one at the cab end (I made up a clamp myself) Partly down to me as I just wanted a simple cover to keep worst of the weather off machinery/tools. It is held on sides...

Re: Steering wheel doesn't sit right

I assume by spacer you mean the black one under the steering wheel, not the plastic column support ring? Is the lock housing seated properly on the support ring or maybe the ring is missing....any movement up and down on the wheel/column?

Re: Air in fuel line - engine cut out 1.6 D CS n/a

Check/replace the rubber leak off pipes that run between the injectors, common for these to weep/leak/let air in.  You need to bleed the air from the pump/system, loosen one of the fuel lines off slightly at an injector and get someone to turn the engine over then tighten the injector union once you...

Re: Moped Racks for VW T25 Campers

I have a towbar, similar to the one Just Kampers sell, which by my understanding is flange type, fits between the bumper irons.  It's yours for free if you want it and can figure a way of getting it depending on where you are?

Re: Not going into 4th gear sometimes.

For what it's worth, I'd check/adjust your linkage before anything else.  Given it's 2nd and 4th that are giving problems, and these are both selected by pushing the gear lever forwards, it may just be that you're not getting enough 'throw' to fully engage the gears.  There's a good video on Youtube...

Re: Coolant leak issues

I have a 1y and same as you it’s never had the second tank/bottle. I bought it like this and didnt know any different. Level in the tank with dalek cap is and always has been around min mark. I’ve used it like this for 12 years or so with no issue and no coolant loss. As has been said previously, if...

Re: Belt squeak. Alternator or glow plugs?

Same issue as I had, new pulleys on the water pump sorted it. Maybe try a thicker belt as oldiebutgoodie suggested first? I got pulleys from Areacamper in Spain but depending on your setup you might find then local to you

Re: Belt squeak. Alternator or glow plugs?

Thats basically the issue I had, except it was the bottom pulley. You say you have a spare alternator so at least you can confirm if it’s that before spending out on a replacement

Re: Belt squeak. Alternator or glow plugs?

Recently been through similar (twin belt setup on a 1Y). Even with new belt and a new alternator it still squeaked. Mine turned out to be the bottom pulleys on the water pump being badly worn. Managed to find new ones in Spain from Areacamper and squeak has gone.

Re: glow plugs issue

Thanks again to colinthefox for the advice, got a selection of resistors off ebay, the 100 ohms was all it needed to give a quick burst of glow plugs so problem solved  :ok

Re: Reverse lights not working ! Help!!

Try bridging both spades together with a short wire, if lights are on it's the switch.  If so, try spraying WD40 or similar into the plunger hole and work it in and out with finger several times.  Might be gummed up inside, worked for me.
