Auto box drain plug size?
Hi, I'm looking to change my auto box oil and I understand the filler tube and drain plug are the same nut. I don't have a spanner that fits and want to get one, anybody know what size it is please? 1.9 Dg 87

Re: T3 Fuel tank
just putting my Brickwerks one back together, it seems good quality. Remember you have to paint it, its only in primer, if you don't treat it right in the first place, no matter how much it costs, you'll be back to square one in no time!

Re: Starting problem finally solved
I bought a reel at a local motor factors (they call it battery cable) for just shy of £40. Covered everything from back to front including new fat cable to dash plus plenty left over for leisure battery etc. Cheers for the reply. Silly question, just red cable? And Polevault do a 170 and 240 amp, b...

Re: Starting problem finally solved
Thanks Gordon. Technologically it was about as basic as you can get. What was a pain was it struggled to start (called a 'lazy starter motor' by people that know) for the first time ever, just before xmas. Once it was warmed up the van started without a problem. Cables were taken apart and connecti...

Re: Shrek's ears/ breather tank
I think you're referring to part number 321201890, they're here on ebay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-Fuel-Tank-Gravity-Valve-Pipes-End-Piece-Nos-321201890-/331543786504 Not that cheap though! Top Man, that's them. Brickwerks call them Shrek's ears, paint them green I guess they could be ...

Shrek's ears/ breather tank
evening, today I removed my fuel tank to replace it along with all fuel lines etc. When I removed the breather tanks the top hose which should have the 'shreks ear' had a self tapping screw in each pipe!! So what are my options?? Does anyone know if anyone sells the correct filter? Or, I'm thinking ...

Re: 1.9DG Help please.

Re: 1.9DG Help please.
Looks like Roger from Bromyard Vw has found my problem. Firstly I need to pay a visit I think to the guy who sold, and 'maintained' this for the old couple. The list of stuff this guy bodged for them is unreal. So the top half of the carb is a T25, the bottom is for a 1300 Vauxhall! Its a 2e3 versio...

left and right are always facing front as if driving
the part number is usually on the left end, the letters after the number are important for identifying variants
Managed to get out and get the numbers off the carb today:

VW/ AU 6 318

Re: 1.9DG Help please.
Doesn't look like either of them photo's  Maybe i'm describing it wrong. If you're stood at the back looking down on the carb, it'd to the left, towards the dizzy. You can see two holes on, the spring is attached to the bottom one, and nothing in the top one? http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/...

Re: 1.9DG Help please.
Do you follow the start procedure? One or two pumps of the throttle and turn the key. Is the fuel falling back to the tank? Pull the pipe off the carb (aim it into a jar) and crank the starter. I didn't know about the start up procedure… but do now :D I'll check to see if the fuel falls back also. ...

1.9DG Help please.
Afternoon, Just tried a search on setting the timing and got over 800 to read, the wife wants a hand, something to do with Christmas so trawling through 800 is going to take time! I have a 1.9DG 86 Auto Caravelle. I have owned it a few months and in that time I have replaced everything that carries ...
