Just browsing through the Brickyard and I notice that there is a 5-speed box available for the 1.7D. Is it just a straight swap between the gearboxes (ALD to ASP)? Vehicle engine and gearbox identification - HELP!

Hi to everyone I am very confused now. I checked my engine in my 1989 van and have an engine number of 033 103 021 stamped on the block, with LPH D stamped near it. These numbers do not seem to correspond with the way numbers are in the manual. Also I had a look at the gearbox (which needs replacing...
