Re: Bike Can Exhaust for CU?
Well, after winning a Suzuki GSXR 750 can this morning, it looks like I'm joining the bike can crew - all for a massive £11.50! "Only used for the yearly trip to the MOT station" I just need to decide on headers now (and get the old one off!). Thanks for your reply Hubcaps, that Fireblade ...

Bike Can Exhaust for CU?
The silencer has gone on my 2.0 Aircooled camper, so I priced a new one... :rofl I then did the sensible thing and hit the search button! I'm liking the idea of Covkid's big bike can on EMPI style headers solution, especially if I fitted these: https://www.coolairvw.co.uk/product/ac251704/ That woul...

https://i.imgur.com/CUzSuv6.jpg https://i.imgur.com/piwar0J.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9HJrJzq.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MzulZwg.jpg I noticed on closer examination that the rear bumper caps had a bolt through them, but guessing at the moment that that hole might be opened up for rear fitment. Will try ...

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CN9As8HxhRQ Forgot all about this post! Seems it's much easier with switchback LED bulbs as per the video. Now, I did get a set at Christmas.... A bit like these! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1156-BAU15S-42-LED-P21W-Switch-Back-LED-White-Drl-Amber-Turn-Signal-bulb-Kit/37...

Re: Bumper End Caps
A set of four has arrived from Eurocarparts for just over £18 delivered. Look great, only issue being the hole on the front face - for a coach bolt I assume. Plastic seems decent quality, colour is a nice even black and it's not brittle. Other than the aforementioned hole they look to be a straight ...

Will do, been keeping an eye on Ebay and on 'Wish' too. Postage times have meant that they're not been an urgent purchase, but if I can snap up a pair for £30...

Re: New headlights
Very nice, I've been toying with the idea for a while!
Have you got a pic of them with the grille fitted? Black or chrome 'background' inside the light units?

Re: Bumper End Caps
Thanks for that - Euro are doing the Starline ones just now and for the same sort of money. Brickwerks seem to have the Klockerholm ones but I could use the fitting kit and bolt covers too. JK have the lot for just under the £50 free shipping threshold- but I'd want to call them to find out which br...

Re: Bumper End Caps
Nice one David, it does concern me that finding decent 30+ yr old end caps might be tricky!
Where did you get yours from and do you know what make they were?

Bumper End Caps
I've just lost a bumper end cap on the motorway, so no hope of retrieving it unfortunately! Question is, has anybody bought new ones recently and can comment on quality? All four of mine were original VW parts, but there seem to be Klokkerholm and Starline replacements out there at the moment. Do I ...

I'm pretty sure that US spec Mk1 Golf (or Rabbit?) is what you're after. Having said that I'm also pretty sure that someone was offering to make up sets from scratch on one of the Feckbook pages - maybe Brickrats...

Re: Stock 14" steels to 16" wheels
You're not going to get standard bolt on fit 16" steel wheels with built in hubcap fittings. There are various steel wheels that will fit (search ' Mefro ' ) but they won't take the chrome VW hubcaps without mods - could be as simple as drilling & fitting Beetle hubcap clips, but pretty sur...

Re: Underfloor Tanks
Thanks Titus, I've no holes drilled anywhere at the moment so that doesn't worry me. As long as it physically fits I an sort something out. I've a Propex to fit and with the van being Aircooled I can see it getting a lot of use, so a tank makes more sense than the wee gas bottles - and it'll free a ...
