How do you prime an AAZ diesel pump?
Hi All I have just replaced my golf 1.9td in my t25 doka with an Audi 1.9td. Except for an engine mounting bracket it's been fairly straightforward. However I've just tried to start it and whilst it fires, it only runs for 10 secs and then dies. The fuel line is dry - think it was firing on diesel l...

No Probs. Still cant find one that is compatible. Engine is definitely out of a 97 golf 1.9td. Will try brikwerks in morning.

Re: aaz 1.9td serpentine belt noise
Hi All, So went to fit clutched pulley I had got from GSF and its the wrong one. Size wise and grooves its correct, but the spacing off the alternator is wrong and thread is too far inside the hole. part no. 904vg2080 should be for a golf 1.9td, but something isn't right. My engine is an AAZ but not...

Re: aaz 1.9td serpentine belt noise
Thanks for the quick replies. I'll put the clutched pulley on . Just need to get splined tool to fit it. Hopefully there's no problem with crank pulley.

aaz 1.9td serpentine belt noise
Hi All I have a doka with a 1.9td aaz engine installed. It has been making a noise from the serpentine belt area for a while. Not a screeching sound, but possibly a bit more of a crackling chirping sound. A mechanic said he thought it was the clutch pulley on the alternator. Having purchased one I t...

Re: 1.6td stuck injector
Hey Oldie No. Went through it all again with a mate and couldn't workout what I'd done wrong. He was convinced it was an air lock. Have taken it to a garage. Unfortunately although he's meant to be a good mechanic he's a bit of a stoner...... Anyway, he has got it running well, in his words, but say...

1.6td stuck injector
Hi All
Having problems getting one of the injectors out. Will not budge at all. Have heard about doing it with a hot engine and soaking it in coke? The fizzy type I presume. Any hints gratefully accepted.

Re: 1.6td won't start after cam belt change
Thanks for all you help but still no go.
Towed it to bump start it but hardly a pop.
I am wondering if it is an air lock? Have cracked the nuts on the injectors and got diesel coming through but no pressure as such just a dribble. Is there any specific way of bleeding the pump?

Re: 1.6td won't start after cam belt change
Hi dave
When you say cycling do you mean waiting for the indicator lamp to go out , don't attempt to start, then turn off ignition and turn the key till lamps come on and then repeat?
I'll do the volt check on the glow plugs.

Re: 1.6td won't start after cam belt change
Hi All. Thanks all for your help, but still no fire. So I've checked the marks I made on the old belt with the marks on the pulleys and number of teeth and all match up. So am as confident as I can be that all is correct there. When I put the new belt on it started and ran but smoked a lot which it ...

Re: 1.6td won't start after cam belt change
Yep. Have turned it over quite a few times now and gone back and checked the timing and all seems good. The only thing I query regarding timing is the pump pin. This fits through the sprocket and into the hole behind, but it is at a very slight angle. It does fit with no effort though. I can't imagi...

1.6td won't start after cam belt change
Hi All Having a mare with my 1.6td. Did a cam belt change. Went through the timing several times and i am as confident as I can be that all is correct. Tdc on flywheel, cam locking tool fitting correct and injector pin in place. Checked timing on pump and came out at .9mm. Had to remove top two inje...
