Re: Cyrix ct wiring

Grounding the negatives to the chassis with good clean connections, perhaps corrosion protected with a bit of petroleum jelly would be best. I don’t think the wiring instructions intend you to link negative copper cables to the alternator or starter motor either. Linking the battery negatives with co...

Re: Domestic Electrics NON VW.

Metal Conduit wiring system unusual but explains all red wires at light switch . Conduit likely wired in single core cables with the switched live going from the switch to the light without a joint.

Re: Domestic Electrics NON VW.

As said Most likely the black tape is misleading . I expect one red is permanently live and the other red becomes live when the switch is on as per a regular light circuit. Twin red cable for light swictches,a better way of doing things that did not catch on ! Puzzling why the wiring appears to head...

Re: Lithium Leisure Battery

Fairly big single lithium leisure battery might fit on the diesel battery tray ,be equivalent to 2 lead acid batteries under front seats and be nice and close to the alternator for minimal loss of voltage in the charging circuit . Maybe relocate starter battery to under front seat. Also to consider ...

Re: Lithium Leisure Battery

  • QUOTE

The only advantage of a fancy charger is that it will charge the battery to 100%, whereas the ordinary charging system gives 85% max charge.

Brickwerks offer a 14.5 volt alternator regulator so would that bring the charging of lithium to 100% ?

:ok

Re: No power from Alternator to Leisure batteries.

How I see it the mains charging is working so is there a relay or fuses to do with split charging from the alternator that are at fault?

Re: Bubble in header tank

I bought 2 Blau “dalek” caps from our favourite supplier one of which seemed to be good but the other one had the black part unsecured to the blue part though it did not readily fall out. I think it should have been plastic welded together in order to make the blue plastic to black plastic joint air...

Re: Diesel Injector pump leak jx

Nice work, so your leak was from the where you fit the dial indicator to set the timing? I thought when you mentioned three sided nut it was the triangle looking nut on the side of the pump. I wasn't brave enough to start disassembling my pump  It was the o ring for the large 3 sided “nut” loc...

Re: Diesel Injector pump leak jx

VW ALH TDI injection pump head seal removal and install - YouTube video gives you an idea on how to go about it. you can get a seal kit with the long bolt included. My issue was not the head seal but while I was Googling I found a warning that mechanical pumps as apposed to electrically controlled ...

Re: Diesel Injector pump leak jx

https://i.imgur.com/FXdmKC2.jpg Update Completed our holiday in Derbyshire with frequent checks to see that the leak was not getting any worse. Once home i made a card pattern of the 3 sided “nut” and used a dremmel with a grindstone to modify a 15/16 inch socket. Having done a fair bit of Googling...

Re: Diesel Injector pump leak jx

I had watched that video but I have had a closer look with the help of a mirror and I think the leak is actually from the  3 sided “bung ?” In the end of the pump. So now i need to figure out  if that can simply be taken out and it’s seal or washer replaced , but I am thinking that the 3 sided nut i...
