Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!

Im now thinking of painting another T3 with roller but with different paint, one i used on the blue one is somesort of industrial/ship paint. After few months, it still looks good but is very easily chipped even tho i did many layers. We do not have rust-oleum here (except for spray paint) so i need...

Re: Idle stablizer question

I've now a new problem. For some reason when the outside temperature is in somewhat summer-ish readings, idle is worse than ever. When we had about 10 degrees outside, idle was about normal, from 1000 to 1500 rpm. Now it is barely running when you stop at traffic lights.... any idea what to look for...

Currently i have is some sort of DIY mock up. except there is a crapload of storage space as the bed is 20cm higher leaving plenty of space underneath it. How hard is the roof headl...

Re: Idle stablizer question

I've now replaced thermostat (that was stuck open) and temp 2 sensor. Now the idle is lower but it goes up-down-up-down-up-down in very fast motion.

Re: Fuel gauge stopped working

Im suspecting its bad connection or sender, as i have tested with 2 different instrument clusters. Sender unit is accesible trough wheel whell on the driver side, removing tank would mean removing engine..

Re: Fuel gauge stopped working

Im going to borrow this thread if that is okay. I have 2.1 wbx syncro, wich has the same symptoms. Fuel gauge aint working, and yes i have changed the voltage regulator, with no results. All the other gauges work. Any suggestions where to go next? I suck at electrics by the way.. lol

Re: Quick thermostat housing question. 1984 2.1

I do not have plastic housing, but aluminium. IF i'd had plastic thermostat housing none of these problems would occur. I'll have to try that angle-thingy on my drill. I managed to make some sort of external tightener for the housing cover in case i can not remove the broken stud. Im ordering new pl...

Re: Quick thermostat housing question. 1984 2.1

I'd buy new one, but i need the car running in few days. PLUS the thermostat housing is attached with those cursed vw bolts, and naturally those are rounded and rusted, and located in such a place you'd need to remove at least exhaust pipe, driveshaft and whole bunch of other stuff to get to it.

Re: Quick thermostat housing question. 1984 2.1

I hope you dont mind me borrowing this thread, as the issue is about 2.1 thermostat housing. I had 3 bolts snapped from the middle (yay) when trying to replace thermostat. Managed to get two of them out (by welding.. sigh..) but this last one aint going away, and it is in such a spot no drilling is ...

Re: Idle stablizer question

Okay, thanks for the replies. I wonder if my idle weirdness is because of some other reason then.. I have new plugs, cap, ignition unit and coil.
