Re: Greasing

You dont need to regrease the wheel bearings, just drive the van till they wear out. Use the Haynes manual for any work thats needed in the future.

Re: Chrome insert surrounds on windows

Some will stay in the grooves, if you want to warm them up use dry heat, and use sealant to ensure a leak free fit. Not really true. Using boiling water is an age old method for fitting window seals and works perfectly. Window seals will have water in the grooves the first day you go out in the rai...

Re: Chrome insert surrounds on windows

Are you serious ! The window seals are there to keep the water from entering the frame recess, they need to be fitted dry and with the addition of non setting sealant a perfect waterproof seal can be achieved. If you want to heat the seals up using hot water just put the window rubbers in a plastic ...

Re: Brake line failure and replacement

Thats an over the top quote for this job, its actually easier to remove the whole brake line system than just replacing several pieces, ive done this twice ,dont bother trying to undo the pipe ends just cut them off. I made my own set up in cupro nickel then when that van rusted away i removed that ...

Re: Auto to Manual conversion, Porsche cv's, Linkage refurb

It's actually the other way around, we stopped selling the VW ones as we had a couple split, the aftermarket ones are more durable. A plastic hinge was never a great idea really. I've got a bag full of VW ones that I'm reluctant to even put in the clearance section. The ones for sale on the Brickwe...

R0B wrote: 13 Apr 2025, 17:59 The accelerator pedals are rubbish. Much better if you use a wood hinge. The strip of plastic that holds the pedal to the plastic hinge is thinner than a thin thing.
Its the repro ones that are pants, the original ones last a long time, new vw production pedals are available from Brickwerks.
