I have now done a decent search, and read the wiki. Looks like it have have been a too big gear stick...

Got some Money off and a load of camping gear thrown in so chuffed!

Ive just taken this van on, and actually haven't picked it up yet, but the guy who sold me it, has just given me this piece of information...

The Van is a 1988 2100cc.

Any opinions as to why this would be the case would be greatly received.
