Front hand brake cable, where to get one?

Can anybody point me in the direction of where to get a front hand brake cable from, the one from the hand brake lever back to the balance bar? Tried GSF and they've no stock and can't get any more. The only other alternative is a genuine VW part but at £20 is a bit steep.

Any ideas peeps?

thanks for that Grun, I'll have to wait before getting nuts etc as i can't get the fecking thing out :x Engine rebuild, no problem. new plastic water pipes, no worries. Fecking swing arm change, no chance!!! This has to be the worst job to do on a van, specially if your wokring on a granit gravel dr...

Rear swingarm 19mm mounting bolts, replacments?

Hey all, had to fit a recon swingarm for the mot on the van, and as usual the body mounting bolts are siezed onto the metal inserts in the rubber mounts. Will be cutting it out later today but i'll need new bolts, question: will any 19mm part threaded bolt and nut do or are they high tensile special...

ringo, would love to hear how you get on with the new engine, crusing speeds and mpg. Not sure about my setup as i don't trust it over 60 mph, maybe i should as it runs really well, but unsure of giving her a bit of a rev. Yes, the oil leaks will come and go, i'm still sorting out a few and i've had...

suppose so.

The setup look the same as the 1.6D setup but the crank pully has the 2 slots for 2 belts to go round, thats why i thought of sticking one belt on it like the spec says for the 1Y.

All the other pullys all line up well with the inside groove on the crank pully.

1Y alternator and water pump belts question

Hey all, Right, water pump belt broke on my 1Y the other day and when i went to get another one the guys at the motorfactors said that that engine only uses one belt, not two. Now, i'm assuming that my engine is running the same belt setup as the 1.6D engines, one belt for the water pump, one for th...

hi ya,

my van runs a 1.91Y engine from a vw vento/passat/golf etc etc etc. Has pretty good mpg and is a doddle to fix.

Great wee engine and spares are plentiful.

I'm sure somebody else will give you there thoughts on their engines
