I would first try the clutch, it felt a bit low to me! Should it engage when the car is not idling?

Hi All, I need some help please. I removed my gearbox to replace the clutch assembly on my 1990, T3 Syncro (South Africa). Whilst out I also replaced the bushes on the gear linkage.
