I've got a full roof clip.
I might put it on my panel but could be persuaded to part with it.

Re: Ahu 2wd wild camper panelvan
Update long overdue. There has been a bit of a change of tack on this build. I'd been very much in two minds about gear ratios. No matter what I did the numbers were close, totally doable but not perfect. I looked at getting my DK box refurbed to sort the gearing out but after some reserch and chats...

Re: Hightop
I really like that roof...
Tried to read the website on it but couldn't make it out.
Where is it from?

Panelvan bulkhead removal.
I'm currently building a panelvan camper for climbing trips and bombing around Europe. I've been looking at ways to increase interior space and couldn't bring myself to put a pop top on an uncut roof but I have thought converting the front bench seat to a walk though and captains chair setup would d...

Cameras use the certification system, n1 carries the speed restriction, not the body type.
So if like me, it's clear, then yet again 70.

My v5 doesn't have anything in the certification column... Totally blank.
Taxation code of plg like most things.
Body type is panel van but the Sargent said its how the vehicle presents.
I'm not saying this is 100%
But it is interesting.

Interesting conversation, Panel van speed limits
So I just had an interesting chat about speed limits. Since I bought the panel van I've adhered to commercial speed limits and was looking at going down the motor caravan route in order to change it. Then I looked at my v5 and I saw that I doesn't have a category code (m1 or n1 as per http://www.dft...

Re: Gearbox people.
Thanks Aidan, that exactly the kind of insight I'm looking for. My box code is DW, as you said, an early petrol 5speed. I lifted the figures from here http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p191/stoopfish/8a034aef3c855cf39462a1212ce2cff3.jpg So would you say the tq of the AHU will be unsuitable for this...

Gearbox people.
Just trying to figure out ratios. How does this look for a 2wd panelvan (light camping interior) on big tyres with a 90/100bhp AHU engine in it? Is 1st too long? It's my stock gear ratios with a longer diff, plus the tyres. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p191/stoopfish/cce3903ca779f873f9e55064be...

Re: Ahu 2wd wild camper panelvan
It's just normal VHT silver enamel; Wilco direct will stock it.
It's designed for cylinder heads and cases, it need baking on, ether in an oven or by running the engine.
Due to the size of the box I just stood over it with a 500degC heatgun for a couple of hours.

Re: Ahu 2wd wild camper panelvan
Scruffy bugger I know! So on with the box. It might seem week one day one stuff to a lot of folk but I've done a kind of "how to" for anyone who is unsure. I've read a lot about people using hybrid clutch set ups and this negates that. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p191/stoopfish/7a77...

Re: Ahu 2wd wild camper panelvan
Well I thought I'd give a bit of an update picture wise. Things are a bit on hold as I've booked the van into a body shop to have some bits done in the engine bay and a bit of a refresh elsewhere. That's not till the first week of March so I've a couple of weeks. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...

Re: Ahu 2wd wild camper panelvan
The project has been on hold because I almost bought a Syncro. I'd initially been looking at them when I wanted a t25 but had decided against it, for some reason though the hankering never really went away. I found myself trying to justify buying one as it would have higher value as a base vehicle a...

Re: Ahu 2wd wild camper panelvan
Welcome and good luck with it - where in the world are you, I have an engine crane and stand you can borrow, crane is folding/removable leg type fits in a van for transport no problem Thanks Aidan, I'm in Norwich, so quite a way from you. I think one of my mates at work has one but thank you for th...
