Re: Petrol

I also read that E10 can make starting more difficult on vehicles that aren’t used regularly. If that is true, then owners who mainly use their vans late Spring to Autumn would be advised to use E5 at least for a few weeks before laying their vans up. I filled up on E10 a few years ago in Germany b...

Re: Accelerator Pushrod

Just to round this one off, yes, it was a poorly finished pushrod. I have filed the excess material down and now all appears to be hooking in and moving as intended :)

Re: Accelerator Pushrod

If its right hand drive take the right indicator out to get a better look. Yep, have been and it's helping but it just won't go in on any angle. It's not far off, I'm of the conclusion I've just got a poorly machined replacement, and I've a bit more filing of excess material to go so it will slip i...

Re: Accelerator Pushrod

Are they different? Oh. I didn’t realise there were different ones… is the auto one longer?

Just checked, part number appears to be for the manual version.

Accelerator Pushrod

It’s there a trick to fitting these? I’m currently trying to do so from in the van into the linkage. What I have noticed is my replacement part is slightly longer and I’ve had to file it slightly to even get it remotely close to going through the hole in the linkage?

Re: Powerflex trailing arm bushes - worth it?

Thanks for the replies guys, very helpful and more food for thought. Anyone out there put the powerflexes on the rear trailing? Yes, in fact my van has every powerflex bush bar gear box and the front uppers. I had the rear trailing arms blasted, powder coated and flooded full of dinitrol then refit...

Re: Fuel pump?

Well they look different, length is important , I guess the old one was a bit wobbly  Nasty case of eczema you have there, I'd put some cream on :rofl Funny, that’s what the wife says... I’m dailying the van for now to road test it before I go forget afield, but yes, it does seem a bit more c...

Re: Fuel pump?

Changed the pushrod today, pretty sure it was that causing my issues. Van fires up straight away now and feels slightly more responsive. Will post a pic of old and new rods.

Re: Fuel pump?

Thanks :) I’ve ordered a push rod, some gaskets and a spacer from brickwerks. Would I be better with a high temp grease or white lithium do you think? I have both.

Fuel pump?

Hello, been having some intermittent fun with my 1985 DF recently. Occasionally it won’t start without fuel or spray start added directly to the carb. Once it it’s running however, it is flawless. Currently on holiday around Norfolk, the van drive great fit for hours, my wife then filled it up with ...

Re: Rear Trailing Arm 2 piece Poly bush

I've used Powerflex bushes for ARB, front bushings and steering rack.  The split ones are much easier to get in (steering rack this week).  I've not replaced the rear bushings but will use Powerflex despite the cost for ease of assembly.  No idea if they outperform the rubber but I'd rather have so...

Re: Rear Trailing Arm 2 piece Poly bush

Finally got mine in along with having my arms powder coated etc. Nice improvement over my old knackered rubber bushes, very impressed so far.

Re: Suspension Upgrade Recommendations - Caravelle

-30mm combined with Bilstein B4 is a nice slightly upgraded setup at a decent price, I certainly noticed a good difference. I imagine the B6 would be a fantastic shock if you want a little stiffer and sportier feel.
