Re: Automatic Gearbox advice

I read an article somewhere on here about changing that seal, the sump and valve body have to be removed to re align the piston from the inside. you are correct in thinking they should least return it in working condition, getting them to do that relies on their reputation and their level of 'specia...

Re: Aircooled atutobox, is it the same as watercooled?

I bought it off a dealer, he knew I had a water cooled engine, but he may not understood the differences. :ok
I guess its only going to be a bargain to someone with an air cooled bus. :)

Re: Automatic Gearbox advice

I have a standard 1.9 DG petrol auto caravelle, pops along very at reasonable 65 to 70, with some left if you want it, hills are no issue (within reason), it doesn't change down often as it hasn't really got many gears to choose from , I dare not fit a rev counter, goodness knows what the engine is ...

Re: Aircooled atutobox, is it the same as watercooled?

I would really be interested in finding out the differences or options to make fit otherwise it's a £300 door stop : :( :(

Re: Gearbox gone.

Sussex Autoparts quoted me around £800 + vat (already removed) for a full rebuild, seemed very knowledgeable about the T25 box and has no issues getting parts. I only enquired as my T25 autobox slips a bit in reverse so should be coming out this winter. I only drive auto's and I really enjoy driving...

Re: Temp Gauge goes straight to hot when ignition turned on

thanks Mocki, I will track the wire back, to the box, at least I know it's yellow with a brownish / red stripe it joins the harness pretty close to the thermostat, I guess it the appears in the black box, the haynes wiring diagram is a bit difficult for me to figure out regardless of the extra gauge...

Temp Gauge goes straight to hot when ignition turned on

Hello, Newbie first post . My 1.9 petrol auto 1983 temp gauge goes straight to hot with the flashing light as soon as the ignition is turned on from cold, when running it remains in the same position, I have looked at the wiring / sensors that I can see and they are connected, I have a wiring diagra...
