Re: GoWesty wbx2.3 project
Why not just put the 2.5 in it Ian? Then I wouldn’t have to keep lifting the engine deck on mine at every VW event for people to see your engine....

And I might add the 2.5 ‘improved’ Oettinger from 025motorsport is a great drive if your 2.1 falls over..

Re: Newbie buying a T25. Do they all rot/engine/gbox?
I’m no expert but thoughts; 1. My van was a German riot police ambulance that clearly did a lot of autobahn miles at high revs - engine keeled over at 150,000km but the gearbox still pretty much pristine. 2. Rot depends on how it’s been kept not age, mines a 1990, not perfect but largely original pa...

Re: Heater fan not working
Had to replace my fan recently (had help from one who has done it a few times!) and did the PWM modification - not difficult at all once you get your head around the wiring.

Re: Subaru conversion? - thoughts please
Agree with Ian, around 6k to pay someone to do it properly. The vw 1.8T option is likely a bit cheaper. I had my MV rebuilt as a 2.5, similar power/torque to a scooby but brand new engine. Engine bay looks (almost) standard.

Thanks I’ll contact them, power run in the first instance. Would like to know what my 2.5WBX is making (as would the engine builder).

Dyno facilities
Can anybody recommend a dyno facility within striking distance of Portsmouth that can cope with a syncro (ideally prefer not to have to take the propshaft off)? Thanks

Re: Fuel injecting a DG engine.
I dont think you'll see much gain in fuel economy. Mine was originally an MV so has Digifant and a lambda, still only returns about 23mpg. If you could fit a crank sensor a programmable ECU and get sequential injection economy should improve (so I'm led to believe) but I doubt it would be economic. ...
