Re: T3/T25 Sliding Door Unlocks When Driving
Just had my second attempt at sorting this. First time I couldn't get the cross head bolts for the latch undone, so I duly went and bought an impact driver in the hopes of shifting them. Second time, just now, took door card etc off in readiness...only to realise that because of the angle of the bol...

I don't suppose you could take a photo of the protective shield/catch so I can use this trick until I can properly see to the door?

Re: T3/T25 Sliding Door Unlocks When Driving
Thanks for your reply Oldiebut goodie, I thought as much. I had a go at filing down the top part of the catch (though it had to be in done where it was as I couldn't take it apart...couldn't shift the cross head bolts, combination of not having the right tools and not being strong enough to shift th...

Re: T3/T25 Sliding Door Unlocks When Driving
I also have this problem I think. Door only closes properly flush if you push the opposite side to the handle in the right way when closing. If you do manage to close it flush it will then pop to the not quite flush position after driving for a while. We are going away for the weekend tomorrow, my q...

Replacement engine - recommendations needed
So last night on our way to a weekend away in 'Mildread' our Holdsworth 1.6l water cooled TD 'smoke' started coming from the engine, the oil pressure light went on and I lost power. We were luckily right near a layby so I managed to limp it into there and turn off the engine. I then proceeded to pan...

Re: Water system not working
Thank you both for your input. I will be having another look at it at the weekend, so will take your advice on board and see what I can work out. Turning the tap on doesn't seem to make a difference, the pump runs continually regardless and no water comes out of the tap either way. I get the feeling...

Water system not working
I have a Holdsworth conversion and the water system inside has never worked properly. I have managed to empty the water tank (once I found the jubilee clip to disconnected the pipe at the back of the tank), and refill. The pump is working...it draws from the tank and pushes water out the other side....

Re: Oil flecks, leaks and puffs of smoke?
So, it turns out it wasn't just me pushing the van too hard on the first trip of the year. Today, whilst we were heading to the start point of our car club's Drive It Day trip out, the white smoke returned and stayed this time...then was accompanied by the buzzer of doom. We pulled over as soon as w...

1990 1.6 Turbo Diesel Leaking Fuel
So I went and filled up with diesel today (stopped before the auto stop function at the pump kicked in) and when I left the garage the fuel gauge was ready a needle width away from full. I just went out to check the van's oil and water, as we are heading out on a 'Drive It Day' run with our traditio...

Re: Seperate fuse for windscreen wiper and washer?
The problem has been sorted now, I took it to someone who knows a lot more than me and it turns out that someone in the past had been too rough when using the wiper control stalk and broken (at the base where it couldn't be seen until the steering column(?) cover was removed). They had tried holding...

Re: Oil flecks, leaks and puffs of smoke?
Thanks for your replies folks, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I topped up the oil and coolant as advised by the chap at the garage that I use. He said he thought some of the seals may have lost some flexibility over the long winter lay up and said I should take it on a few gentle runs out...

Re: Seperate fuse for windscreen wiper and washer?
Hey Kev, Thanks for your reply...I must have forgotten to subscribe to this post as I got no notification when you replied. Yes, the wipers work so the fuse must be ok as you say (shame as I was hoping for a quick fix). I haven't done either of the cleaning jobs you mentioned, I am a real novice and...

Seperate fuse for windscreen wiper and washer?
Hi there, I have a 1.6l 1990 Turbo Diesel T25 and am having issues with my front windscreen washer. The wipers are working, but the water won't come out. I know the water bottle is full, but there is no pump sound when trying to operate washer. Do the wipers and washer pump work off the same fuse? I...
