Window winder problems

Hi guys!

The splines have worn on my drivers side window regulator (the bit that the winder joins onto). I replaced the whole mechanism and handle a couple years ago and it's come off again aleady! Any way to fix it without glueing it back on?

Cheers!

Early sliding door handles

Hey guys!

I'm looking for a sliding door handle asap. The only place with them in stock is brickworks and they're £100! Anyone have a spare or know somewhere with them in stock?

Cheers!

Cylinder head spitting flames!?

I have an oil leak coming from the cylinder head, so I thought I best change the gasket. I decided to change the oil at the same time (20w50 so nice and thick stuff for summer). When I turned the engine on to warm it up I could see flames spitting out of the cylinder head! Going to change the gasket...

Re: 2.0l CU Aircooled exhaust replacement options

I've seen the bike silencer on here before. Nice idea but I'm not keen on a side facing exhaust because they blow fumes towards the pavement.

Ive heard the aftermarket heat exchangers rust from the inside and don't last long. Anyone know of some good quality ones?

Thanks!

2.0l CU Aircooled exhaust replacement options

Hi guys, I'm replacing my whole exhaust system and considering swapping the heat exchangers for header tubes since I've heard reproduction one's won't last long. I'd also like to know what silencers people recommend that laast and won't break the bank? Ideally something that will fit straight on wit...

Re: Engine carrier - orientation

Remove the top part of the oil filler neck and plug the hole with a bit of cloth. Unclamp the thermostat cable. Remove the grill over the fan. Slacken off the alternator belt and remove from fan pulley. Undo the bolt in the centre of the fan and remove fan. Undo the four nuts that hold the fan hous...

Re: Engine mounts problems

Thanks guys! I managed to access the 4 bolts on support bar after loosening the fan housing, so no need to take the whole thing out . Engine sitting much more level now, although still making knocking sound. Drove back from France without any (major) issues. Realised ots the CV joints now, new parts...

Re: Engine mounts problems

I think we were cross purposes, you already have the engine bar off, you are actually trying to replace the engine mounts ? I'm not sure that is possible with the cooling housing in place, the bolts will probably not wind out enough, even if you get access. You can but try with an open end spanner ...

Is the only way to get to them removing the fan housing?

Thanks!
Yes. It not hard to do.

Ok, can I just remove part of the housing? Or even better is there a step by step guide how to do it? Haynes doesn’t say much about it.

Cheers!

Re: Engine carrier - orientation

Hi guys, I can’t get the engine support off my 2l CU engine. I’ve undone 2 bolts that attach it to the engine and give it a few taps with a hammer, but it won’t budge. Anyone have an idea what to do? Thanks! There are four bolts the upper two are behind the fan housing. https://i.postimg.cc/5yZ4sLJ...
