Re: Fuel leak on Pierburg Carb Petrol 1.9 DG

Update on the leaky carb.

Been down to the garage to get the old accelerator pump diaphragm off the carb to check its size and it appears to not have a spring underneath it like it should do.

Not sure where I can get one because it isn't in the rebuild kit.

Any help most welcomed.

Cheers

Re: Fuel leak on Pierburg Carb Petrol 1.9 DG

Hi Mocki I thought that might be the area the fuel was leaking from.  Is it the rubber diaphragm which fails or is it a seal under the accelerator pump? 2nd million dollar question is can I replace it with the carb in situ?  The van is locked up in the garages compound for the weekend but I can get ...

Fuel leak on Pierburg Carb Petrol 1.9 DG

Afternoon all. I have had my van off the road on SORN for about 12 months and am in the process of getting it back on the road. Engine started fine and it ran ok the other day so booked in for an MOT today. I had given it a good looking over and all seemed ok including the fuel lines etc. At some po...

DIY Teardrop caravan

Hi all, Has anyone on here made a DIY Teardrop caravan. I am thinking of making one for the kids to chill out in/sleep in because they are getting a bit big for the van. Looks fairly straightforward and I think I have the required woodworking skills. In the USA you can buy fairly cheap but sturdy 4'...

Re: Fuel not reaching carb

Good point. Next time it does it I will check. The fuel filter after the tank was full of fuel.

I am wondering if I have a dodgy fuel pump.

Cheers

Fuel not reaching carb

Hi all, I have an intermittent fault which may be an vapour lock in the fuel system. Van runs fine but after being parked sometimes when the engine is warm it won't start. There is a spark and it turns over but there is no fuel getting to the carb. Do the trick with the plastic bottle on the fuel fe...

Re: Hesitation...again...

Check your coil, instructions are in the wiki.

My coil was out of wack and was causing a flat spot/hesitation when i was driving.

New coil fixed it for me.

Re: Smells of fuel but no visible fuel leak. Help please

Hi Itchy feet Didn't think fuel filler seal. I bet they yanked the filler pipe out and they wouldn't have replaced the seal. They aren't VDub types and haven't a clue. They are also arsey apparently about fitting parts supplied by the customer claiming something about insurance wont let them, so eve...

Smells of fuel but no visible fuel leak. Help please

Hi all, I apologise for the length of this posting before I start. About a week before we were due to set off to Cornwall for two weeks my missus took the van to a local garage to get the rear facing (behind the front passenger seat) removed. We had previously discussed having this done so she thoug...

Re: Inflatable Drive away awning

Hi

We have a Khyam Driveaway Aerotech 4XL. Its big but it does fit on most normal pitches. It has 4 airbeams and takes about 20 mins to put up.

Not cheap but very good quality.

Cheers

Will do tomorrow when back from work. Where does the bracket attach? Is it on the caliper?

Pardon my ignorance.
