Re: 1.9 DG won't run on idle
Hi, Try the primary/idle jet itself. remove pancake and you will see the top of the jet, get a good fitting flat blade screwdriver and unscrew it. This is the usual culprit for me. Make sure you can see through it coz sometimes cleaning or blowing doesn't always shift the blockage. Ignore all that, ...

valve preload just checking
Morning all, Thought I'd check and adjust the preload on the valves as the old girl sounds a bit more 1940 Radial Aero engine trying to start then 4 grannies happily knitting. So I know how from the ajsimmo's wiki and the manuals but I've got a few choices as to when, Richard Atwell suggests run the...

Re: Flat spot at 2500rpm
HA AH You should make that into a wiki.....er hold on! I would of thought that a WWW search would of brought up a bit more then it did on the jet, but then I am on the works computer so who knows what is being filtered... Well done for keeping tabs tho Mr Feet :ok . That's my evenings enterta...

Re: Flat spot at 2500rpm
Personally I can't answer the questions I have no idea what the main jet should be and searching the WWW didn't come up with anything obvious. Itchy said from memory it was a slow release, I don't remember, just that it pulled when I sucked on it.....I know, I know.  I would have thoug...

Re: Flat spot at 2500rpm
Hi Kev, I was going to say possible stage 2 diaphragm weak or needs a slight adjustment, but Itchy seems to have covered that. I'll add this as my contribution. Have a read here http://www.cjh.me.uk/MyPhotobucket/albums/T25/Pierburg-2E3/Pierburg%202E3%20Maintenance%20and%20Repair.pdf https://www.dro...

Re: Masking tape stuck on
Try lighter fuel/petrol, the stuff for Zippos, it's milder then white spirit, cellulose, etc but still a solvent. just wet the paper tape and let it soak through to the adhesive and soften it then pull the tape off and wipe the adhesive off with a paper towel or soft cloth. you can wet this with a b...

Re: Carburettor Problems
I'm with 937carrrera on this one. if it was the idle jet then engine temp makes no difference it would stall when slowing to that jet. Can you move the choke flap freely? or does it feel connected to something...I suspect the little plastic connector has broken so not engaging the choke. http://foru...

Re: Rear left direction indicator light doesn't work
Hi Lars, I'm not much better electrically, but have you cleaned out/lightly sanded the bulb holder for that bulb and checked the contact point for corrosion/oxidation. The earth might be good to the group but not to that bulb. Also try using a known working bulb as a check. The front bulb flashing t...
