Master cylinder replaced, no more noise and the gear change is considerably smoother.
Thanks

Single carb CU and oil beather
As the thread title suggests my Aircooled CU has been modified by a PO to use a single webber carb, all runs well and no issues other than the fine film of oil sprayed from the oil breather. Currently this is a pipe that sit near the air filter box, so what designs have other people used with this s...

Re: 'Sucking' Clutch Master Cylinder
Clutch now blead through, I was unable to get the air to stop coming out after all the old black fluid had been removed. Does this suggest that the master cylinder needs replacing or is there a seal kit? Everything seems to work fine and I can't see any leaks, is this likely to be a problem in the s...

Starter motor bush size
I have been having a few intermittent starting problems so went to change the bush. Having got the bell housing off, the old bush's OD is ~2 mm bigger than the replacement, I think I must have a non-standard starter motor as there is no way that the shaft will fit through the nominal 12 mm ID of the...

Re: 'Sucking' Clutch Master Cylinder
Checked the level before original post was just above min line, topped up to midway and will fill toppers tonight. No difference in ducking noise. Is this a new master cylinder job or normal?

'Sucking' Clutch Master Cylinder
When I release the clutch peddle I can hear a 'sucking' from the master cylinder, there is no indication of leaking fluid, and everything seems to be working fine.
Is this some thing to worry about or just a previously un-noticed sound in a new to me van?
Regards
Mark

Re: 2.0l CU Oil leak from blow by
Drained ~6.5l of oil out of the van replaced with 4.5l and everything runs fine.
Now need to remove dip stick tube before measuring, oil is then about 100 mm from the bottom of the sump, does this sound correct?

Re: 2.0l CU Oil leak from blow by
Great, that gives me a bit of confidence. Hopefully I can solve my oily problem, will report back tomorrow once I have put the correct amount in.
Next question will be where can I get the correct length dip stick they seem a thin on the ground following an online search.

Re: 2.0l CU Oil leak from blow by
Thanks for the hints, will look to get some photos, the engine starts and runs fine. I haven't got a compression gauge will look to procure on in the near future From what I understand from other descriptions I think (hope) that the volume of oil coming out precludes high crank pressure. I have a su...

Re: 2.0l CU Oil leak from blow by
Engine not over full, if going by dip stick but may need to check that the length is correct, would also be surprised if engine was that worn as was replaced in 2010 and only a few thousand miles since. Any other possibilities or is that it?
Guess that new rings is a major rebuild job?

2.0l CU Oil leak from blow by
Hi all, new to the forum and T25's, I have a 82 Aircooled camper that soon after purchase (possibly before but I don't think so) developed an extensive oil leak. I have checked all the usual suspects, pressure switches, rocker covers and oil cooler seals etc, and have come to the conclusion that the...
