Re: Jack

Halfords have a sale on at the moment, this one looks the business at £40 down from £80. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165727 For travel though I'm looking into one of those hi lift jacks mentioned in the wiki (less weight) to use with my 3 tonne axel stands, safer and are higher t...

Re: Snapped front CV shafts! #Pictures up#

Hmm, my front outer cv joint from (sorry) china/devon lasted just under 200 miles last May before it just seized? and because the vw/audi specialist garage that fitted it ordered the wrong part originally ie. a standard t25 cv (I tried telling them about syncro parts are different but started to get...

Re: Saab front seats

"I wouldn't call it grief" Yeah no probs really, I'll probably go for saab (price wise and another thread? ;) (they're spot on actually, that blue van is a spitting image of mine) when I've a drive way to park on and a power source for an angle grinder and when I've also fixed the half doz...

Re: Saab front seats

I've been thinking for a while about getting some saab seats but reading this thread/links too much grief so I'll stick with me vw originals that match the rear. They're nice but the passengers got two golf ball size holes from some welding mishap but will do till I get some captains, yeah those arm...

having water on tap when ever you want it.

Think you hit the nail on the head there, running water. I do my nut when I'm out of water and have to rinse my hands, plates etc with bottled water.

Re: Fitting a sink into a T25!

Mines an Aztec camper conversion and it just has a £15 25 litre water tank in the cupboard (like from millets), electric whale submersible £20 pump (inside the tank), 2 12v wires/water supply tube connected to a comet novo tap about £20 quid too and the waste just pours out on to the street via a 1&...

Re: 1.6td won´t start, turns over and coughs out grey sooty smoke

Thanks mate and yep made it back last night after getting the ferry from Santander on Monday, everything still running smooth.

Now for some maintenance and a good look through the wiki as I just want to go back, cold, dark damp England doesn't agree with me or the van.

Cheers and thanks again.

Re: 1.6td won´t start, turns over and coughs out grey sooty smoke

Well I bit the bullett and bought some glow plugs from the vw main dealer (118 euros for four!) as I didn´t have much to loose. Good news I changed the one nearest the front of the van as that looked the easiest and was the one with the repaired leak and it started instantly. I did try the wd40 in t...

Re: 1.6td won´t start, turns over and coughs out grey sooty smoke

Thanks for the replys, I did pull out the cold start lever for the first time ever as it was 7 centigrade and thats the coldest its been in since about last may. I´ve got a hire car and jump leads and turned it over and over but nothing. Its stuck at a rest over miles from anywhere so I can´t think ...

1.6td won´t start, turns over and coughs out grey sooty smoke

Anyone any ideas whats fried on my engine to make it do that. I´ve had recently over heated the engine maybe and also not bleed it right and I´ve had a leaking injector pipe spraying diesel too, now sealed up ok. It ran ok for 130 miles since all this and I stopped for 30 mins then drove another 20 ...

Hi again, got as far as Burgos , parked up for the night only in the morning it won´t start, first time in 7000 miles. It just turns over and coughs out medium grey sooty smoke. So near and yet so far I´m kicking myself I didn´t drive all the way to santander while I had the chance. So I haven´t a c...

Re: Overheating has blown off expansion tank sender

Thanks again Brent, Good news, I managed to get it into town and that must of unblocked an airlock as I´ve managed to get some water coming through. Going to search the forum on how to bleed it as the haynes for the petrol engines say it should be revved and then raise the front end 400mm higher tha...
