Re: Spongey brakes Aircooled

Yeah when I changed rear wheel cylinders, shoes and drums I bled the rear cylinders with a pressure bleeder at 12psi, adjusted the new shoes so the rear drums were dragging (using a bar to turn the drum on the rear studs), got in the van and applied the brakes several times and held for 10 seconds o...

Re: Drooping door…

When I cut out my fridge panel and inner sill, when I cut into a piece of floor near the rear bulkhead the 'C' post spread out about 1cm, meaning if I had welded the floor up as it was then the new fridge panel would have been proud of the van at the 'B' post if that makes sense. I had to use two ra...

Sliding door rail panel, in prep courtesy of Plasticman…

Needed to make a proper job of it

I got that panel. It's brilliant and thicker steel than original.

Re: Rustoration

It’s a bugger isn’t it? How’re you keeping? I’m still plugging away at this, retirement is helping somewhat but I’ve a job interview on Tuesday given the cost of living. Hope to get it as a job share for a few extra pennies. Did you replace your fridge panel with new, or just stick it back on? I’m ...

Re: What lurks beneath

I got a replacement panel from Plasticman on here. Nice thick guage steel and all the creases were perfect

Re: New front seats

They definitely look lower than my electric Saab seats hubcap. You have the original big steering wheel too. No way I could drive my van if that was still the case. I love driving the van. As am an 80's child it's like driving a piece of my childhood...but it would be nice to be more comfortable dri...

New front seats

So after all my reading I went for saab 9-3 electric seats for my T25 a few years back but I have to say they are nowhere near as comfortable as some people have suggested 😔. At 6"1 I and 16 stone I have come to the conclusion now that these seats are a bit too high than I would like. Even with...

Re: Alternative and much cheaper fuel pressure regulator for na EJ20 subaru engine

Yeah thanks slowcoach. Could have been carnage if the fuel hose burst as Subaru exhaust manifold is right below the fpr 🙂

Alternative and much cheaper fuel pressure regulator for na EJ20 subaru engine

Hi all Had a problem burning out fuel pumps which was finally found to be a broken fuel pressure regulator which caused so much of a constriction that the fuel hose going to the fuel rail nearly doubled in diameter. Anyway, disaster averted however nowhere in the UK stocked a new part and Subaru wan...

Brings back memories. Massive job taking the whole big fridge panel off and doing the inner sill. Hopefully never again 😂

Re: Fuel tank leak/hunting idle and low power

So just an update on my fuel pump issues. I ran the engine and the fuel pump started squealing and it was then I noticed that the fuel hose from the pump to the fuel rail had swollen to nearly twice its diameter! Thank God it didnt burst. Removed the fuel pressure regulator and a lot of fuel burst o...

Re: Fuel tank leak/hunting idle and low power

The dangling wire was rectified 😂. I fed a wire directly to the negative terminal on the battery to see if that helped with burning out fuel pumps. I ran the van today and could feel the feed hose to the fuel rail pulsing but the tank return line could just feel a steady stream of fuel passing. Good...

Re: Fuel tank leak/hunting idle and low power

I have disconnected the webasto line for now to see if that helped with pump cavitation. Oldie, can you take the webasto feed from the fuel return side instead?
