Fire damage to engine

My 1980 1.9 air cooled t25 caught fire, apparently 3 year old engine dropped a valve? Gutted everything in engine hatch though put fire out quickly so didn't do any other damage. Insurance said I could buy van back for around £3k but is it worth it. Van chassis really sound, but will it cost too muc...
