Re: Leisure Battery overheating need urgent advice please

Thanks that’s a great help. Will isolate the live terminal, probably will wrap it as I won’t be sure it’s properly isolated with out being able to check in person, until I can find a new battery. I think the solar panel won’t know it’s there so hope it won’t start sending it a charge. Sent from my i...

Leisure Battery overheating need urgent advice please

Daughter just taken VW T25 campervan down to West Country. Arrived at midnight and phoned to say funny gas smell. Traced it to leisure battery which was very Hot to touch. She has disconnected it and put it outside and gone to bed. There is some liquid in the battery compartment. If she goes on with...

Oil/air breather tower

I’m going to be like a London bus. No posts for several years then 3 at once. I’m getting oil in the air filter box so thought I would clean out the tower. Held on by 4 studs. I failed to remove it. Wiggled and tapped it but could not get it free. Does it just pull off. In that the van is off on its...

Re: Spark Plugs differences

Thanks. Although I’ve been running 3 electrode plugs on a green stickered coil for several years. Is that an oops.
I note Haynes has different plug gaps for green and grey. Also different plug references.

Re: T25 Trident 1991

Just doing tweaks at the moment, will have to go deeper soon as a few issues on bodywork and mechanicals. But need a bit more warmth. In the meantime I’ve been replacing internal lights with LEDs. Certainly see the difference on battery drain. Bought some LED strips to replace tubes in the two main ...

Re: Voltage drop

Thanks for all the help. Rewired in parallel, and after a lot of reconnecting now all up and running. Lights appear much brighter but only tonight will confirm. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190321/003337da10f0070069cd7d5cbda7b9c9.jpg Have kept chocblox until I’m sure I’ve got it right, had ano...

Re: Voltage drop

Thanks for helpful input. 10 volts is at the battery end. Bought the lights at busfest. so assuming 12 Volt. Have put battery on charge and even in daylight they look brighter. Albeit it’s now at 14V while connected to charger. Will check in dark tonight when fully charged. Will also order a new lei...

Voltage drop

Another electrickery question as this would not be my chosen subject! I have fitted 5 small led lights (see pic below) inside the van under the wooden side panels (High top). Took the feed from the same line as an existing light running from leisure battery via a switch. I have fitted them in series...

Re: Propex Heater Control unit

Perfect. I’m prone to breaking things so was too cautious and using 2 screw drivers worked well. I was hoping to find a hole behind so I could feed some wire through. But alas no large hole. So back to square one. Am fitting some mini LED’s along the underside of the boxed in section. Can’t get acce...

Propex Heater Control unit

I need to remove my heater control. But can’t work out how. It looks as though the dial has to be removed first but it does not pull off. Can’t see any screws holding the cover in place. The cover is loose on the left but firmly in place on the right. Help please[SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES] http...

Re: T25 Trident 1991

Not posted for a while. Will work back through time on jobs I have been doing. Not restoration but most recent job was fitting a solar panel. Read all the excellent threads on the site. My main requirement was to keep my batteries topped up particularly since the leisure battery is close to needing ...

Re: Which Satnav

Well Amazon failed to deliver the 7" so wife not happy. But looking at my 5" (garmin) I noticed a setting for brightness. Mine set at 99%. Does Tom Tom have a hidden brightness setting?
Sorry for the innuendo but difficult to resist.
