16td JX Diesel pump throttle arm ,drip drip!!

I have serched the forum after noticing a very small diesel leak coming from the throttle arm on the pump housing. I found one post relating to this where a new seal was purchaed for just one english pound. I'm gonna ring the supplier in Poole on Monday. Is this a common fault and can anyone comment...

After that grey galvanising spray I used just a thin skim before prepping for paint.

Re: Window rust

I have recently repaired a couple of mine.I repaired pinholes with spot weld and bad bits with a couple of patches after using a spot blaster to eradicate all the rot first.
I followed up with a copious helping of wax oil sprayed inside the window housing. So far all is well...

Re: Replacing panel under windscreen ££ ?

I did mine, but just did a patch job as i'm LHD as apposed to replacing the panel, turned into such a big job when I got the glass out I kind of wish I had replaced the lot. To do it properly you need the dash out as well as the glass.replace the panel, prep and paint then dash back in before the glas...

Re: What on earth is this? (apart from bad news)

Here's the update... Shaft is toasted where it has rubbed against the remains of the thrower...The whole affair was being supported by the genuine vw oil seal on the bell housing so really glad I took the box out now. The remains of the oil thrower saved the bell housing and the missing piece of the...

Re: What on earth is this? (apart from bad news)

yep that's part of the oil thrower, chances are your bellhousing is knackered too, the oil thrower is an interference fit in it and must be absolutely centred; I'd expect the input shaft seal to be leaking and the bellhousing to be wet. The input bearing may also have failed or the engine may not h...

Re: What on earth is this? (apart from bad news)

looks like the oil throw tube that sits behind the input shaft seal in the bell housing. you may get away with new bell housing , but will need to check main shaft bearing ect whilst apart. do you know the history of the box? has it always been in your van? any one done a clutch/removed the engine/...
