Has it ever been run on veg oil?
Heard a report of an American with some big diesel with jelly like oil. Turns out the veg blew past the sloppy rings since, veg oil and mineral oil don't mix it turned to goop.

It will not damage the paint work (both during the curing stage and the inert stage).
Once the acid has lifted the paint during the curing the rust will go on bubbling away under the plywood,

It will have a small effect on the metal, granted but, it will also have an effect on the surrounding paint which may expose more metal and it will all be in its own little micro climate under the plywood bubbling away unnoticed.

.just remember silicone sealant eats into metal.... The salt and vinegar smell you get as silicon cures is from acid (acetic I think) so therefore it will munch its way thru your floor. Oh and don't use no more nails  . Plumber friend of mine broke a shower tray that was held down with two o...

I run my 1.6TD on WVO (waste veg oil) in varying amounts, upto 90% veg with no probs. When I first started running WVO I changed the fuel filter after 500 miles, then 1000 and again at a following 1000, because veg has a higher viscosity it tends to drag the debris in your tank through the lines int...

SS has lower tensile strength than high tensile fasteners so may be prone to shear in higher stress areas. All materials have different coefficients of expansion so in high heat areas fasteners may work loose. Dismaterials in contact can suffer from electrolytic corrosion, this should only be a real...

What heating are you using?

I am looking at fitting a heat exchanger to the fuel line, induction heater to the injector lines and heating the filter (hopefully electric and water). If I change to SVO would a tank heater be needed as well?

Hi mattc. I have a 1.6 TD pop top westy. I run this on 60% Waste veg oil, that brings the running costs down a little, runs about 30MPG on mostly short runs to work at the moment. Perhaps the 1.9 petrol has a little more oomph though?

Sounds exactly like mine, I was just wondering about extra stress on pump and injectors with the starting but I have read a little about heating to increase atomising (or nebulizing). I figured that a little extra expense on top of the mods suggested above would help. Thanks for the reassurance, I w...

veg oil heating

I am currently running 60%WVO to 40% diesel. I have no mods at present but plan a heat exchanger (as per just veggin'), a (coolant) heated filter with 12v coil heater (for start up).I don't want to go down the two tank route and following a couple of dodgy cold starts recently, it struck me that the...
