Help please. Odd knocking sound from under van. Travelling F
Need a little help please. Travelling across France at the moment and for the last two weeks the van has not missed a beat. He is a Westy T25 1984 water cooled 1.9 petrol. When driving today I noticed a knocking / thumping noise from under the van. It's enough to feel vibrations through the floor. I...

Re: Westfalia - what are these for?
I've got some of those but in different places. I'll be keeping an eye on this post to find out what they are for.

Re: Solar and split charging
You can run each set of pos and neg wires from the solar panel to a double solar socket and run the single from that to the controller. As CovKid said you don't need to worry about the split charge when the engines running. The controller will dump the excess. Personally I'd keep the split charge fo...

Re: Filling the water tank
I fill my Westy with a hose. I brought one of those expandable blue hoses that I keep in the van just for fresh water - rather than using the garden hose

Re: Major Service - what should I do?
Then it's onto the bodywork, deal with any bubbles quickly. If I get a bubble I will remove the paint down to the metal, clean of any rust, coat with rust treatment, I have then got a tin of rustoleum same paint code that I use to fill it, I don't use filler, I use an artists brush, dab the treated...

Major Service - what should I do?
So last year I completed a service on my 1.9 petrol Westy Joker. I was quite pleased it started again after as I'm learning mechanics on the van. This is what I did. HT leads New plugs New air filter Oil change New rotor arm New distributor cap My question is - what should I do for this year? I don'...

Re: Driving with the table set up
I have a westy with the swing out table and have driven with the table swung out in front of the kids - they were belted in. Re setting the table - tried it once but the wine glasses and 2 plates of dinner went flying when going round a roundabout - not recommended

Re: Westie sink water pump
I have a Westy and the pump on that is a submersible in the water tank. I've just replaced mine with a Whale one from Amazon. 10 ltrs a min is all the pressure you'll need. I think it cost around £12

Re: 240v consumer unit location?
Why not replace the 110v socket? Above the circuit breaker. That's where mine is

Re: Battery level Indicator ( T25 Westfalia )
I've never used mine but if memory serves I links to a wire going into a grommet next to the gas inlet in the floor. Mines not attached to the inlet pipe - at least I don't think so. Glad its all sorted

Re: Early slider handle question
You can tighten it (and possibly adjust the horizontal) by peeling back the inner door card - it's held in pace by a screw from behind.

Re: Battery level Indicator ( T25 Westfalia )
It's the s2 switch that turns on the lpg heater. The column on the left is water level x 3 plus the bottom one (green) is an indicator that should light up when the fridge is on gas but the red one at the bottom on the right is lpg warmer.
