Re: Pierburg 2e3 rebuild, accelerator pump injector jet dripping?

Hello! The screw on the cam in the latest picture is over to the right which means the accelerator pump is already engaged with a pre-load. Have you tried it the other side to get more per squirt?

Re: Removing Steering Rack Bushes - a different order and notes

The prising method makes complete sense now you've explained it, thank you for sharing. I'd be trying that if I had original bushes.

The hammer technique was not the most elegant solution, especially as there is limited space for it to go!

Steering Rack Stiffener Brackets

Just seen this on the Vanagon Facebook group. Not heard of this issue before, thoughts? Want to go out and measure mine now. xmF2lWPEIHA Designed by Jason Newton, master VW and Vanagon specialist for 25 years. The triple jet washers are from Suzuki Alto / Swift / SX4.

Be careful you don't get the lower quality ones, they're pants.

Ball Joints, Brakes and Wheel Bearings (videos)

Hi all, i've uploaded a couple of new videos to YouTube. Interested in your feedback!

The first one has a shout out to CovKid as I tried his technique of getting a basic toe setting with a broom handle (it worked!).

Re: New video - Fitting Bilstein B4 Shock Absorbers

Thank you all and well done Stuart for getting them in without a press, that's impressive!

The next vide is now live, it's about fitting the Upper Control Arm / Wishbone bushings and features my first stab at welding:

Re: New video - Fitting Bilstein B4 Shock Absorbers

Hi Stuart

I used a hammer to whack them out then a £26 manual press to push them back in. I had to modify it slightly to fit but worked perfectly. Should have the video up in the next few days. Just finishing off the editing.

Steering Knuckle Spacer Ring

I didn't realise this was a thing until I looked at the Bentley. The modification to the wheel bearing spindle added a spacer ring to meet the oil seal. Part number 251-407-631. Has anyone replaced theirs? 1. Mine have pock marks where the rust has eaten into it outside of where the oil seal sits. T...

Re: Warning about Lemförder upper balljoints

Just checked the footage I filmed. Can't find the box as I never had any in the first place! They came loose from Brickwerks inside a nice Lemförder tote bag. I presume they are German NOS, but could very well be Chinese.

Re: Warning about Lemförder upper balljoints

Haha. Still not got it right. I was very tired yesterday. I'll go back to the van for a third time and get the right boxes. Too late for me as they're all off but I agree about not replacing them for the sake of it. My upper ball joints were fused solid with no movement, tie rods had slight play. Th...

Re: Warning about Lemförder upper balljoints

Well spotted! Sorry. It's just me being careless which box I put the ball joints back in. (I'm doing all three). These say made in Germany too. Just checked my emails and I got the uppers from Brickwerks. https://siradventure.files.wordpress.com/2020/09/20200930_201736.jpg?w=600 Threads seem fine on...
