Ok so update... It seems the problem was the hall sender. We managed to get a new/replacement one and after a bit of modification to the wires and connectors she is working perfectly and has just done a 150m round trip to Dorset!
Thanks for your help guys.

Re: Electric ignition overheating?
Ok so the hall sender doesn't fit! The connectors are different and the connector it's self is too big to locate into the side of the dizzy. We have spent the weekend trying to sorce a second hand dizzy from various firms and having no joy. So my next question is... Do I modify I.e. cut the original...

Re: Electric ignition overheating?
Thanks for your replies guys. I am conscious of the garage replacing everything which is why I want to get my head around the problem. Re: Electric ignition overheating?
Thanks for the quick response. I'm planning to change the coil anyway due to the low cost. The vehicle has new plugs and HT leads and recon carb. The engine labours to turn over a couple of times then fires and ticks over almost perfectly once off the choke. She dose have a miss fire on tick over ev...

Electric ignition overheating?
Hi Guys (& girls!) We're new to the forum and like most people our first post is because we have a problem (sorry) with 'Bitsie' our 1987 Autohomes Kamper! She's got a 1.9 DG engine (78 ps) and has been off the road for 5 years. The good news is she now has an MOT but we're having an electric ig...
