Re: Hot starting problems
May not be of any use but i had the same problem. My engine was a JX though to might be totally different. (I know nothing of petrol engines) Turns out it was the stop solenoid or more so, a poor connection to it. I could get her to start by touching the connection on the solenoid directly to the po...

Re: Transaxle rebuild
FYI. Aidan messaged me and recommended the guy in Ireland (forgot name just now) and advised that he was on hand to offer the gentleman any pointers necessary and that the box would be in good hands.

Transaxle rebuild
Can anyone recommend where to send a transaxle for rebuilding while AT is taking a break. Or does anyone know if it’s worth waiting and how long that might be? I have been actively checking his website for updates but none so far.
Thanks in advance

Where to get an AAZ?
My JX engine is goosed. Im wondering Where to buy an AAZ engine? I have searched about, all I can find are American sites selling new or low mile ones but nout in the UK. I’m looking for as new as possible as I’m sure everyone is. Are there any good places in UK or Europe?

Re: Aaz conversion?
Sorry for the hijack of the thread. But...... What makes the best AAZ? Everyone seems to have different opinions and it would be good to put all ideas in one place. Many people seem to talk about “too much JX in it” or intercooler vs charge etc. What’s everyone’s opinion? Best injectors? Ratios? Cha...

Re: Starting issue
Now I’m definitely no expert. In fact I’m a complete novice so I hope someone with a wealth of knowledge comes along shortly to tell me if I’m talking nonsense...... I have a Diesel engine so this might not be the same but the stop solenoid was not getting the correct current sometimes so if I was c...

Re: Strange going’s on....
The garage just called. Say it was an earth strap on the engine that was causing the problems. Don’t know if I’m convinced but I’ll see when I pick it up.

Re: Strange going’s on....
Sorry. It’s a jx 1.6td, 1988 LHD syncro. I thought about the Earth crown but it seems strange when it’s so far from where the garage should have been working. I dropped it back off at them this morning for them to have a look. As I drove to work this morning in the dark I noticed that the lights wou...

Strange going’s on....
Well there’s something strange going on... I’ll give you a full run down even though I’m sure most of it will be irrelevant. Firstly, vehicle running fine before I parked it up for two weeks over Christmas. When I jumped back in, 1st & 2nd gears seemed to be ‘moved’ where I had to push down slig...
