Re: Heads Off Due To Pressurised Coolant

You had to sell a syncro, or you can't afford to buy one now ?

I'm sure you know, but you have 3 years to sell previous property & recover SDLT premium

Re: rebuild or re manufactured engine.

It comes down to money.

Do you just need one that "works", or do you actually want a proper rebuild

A proper rebuild will cost more in parts than an off the shelf exchange engine will cost. That's all you need to know

I'm with your garage mechanic

Re: How heavy are our vans?

Make sure that the base you are bolting into is reinforced / strong enough. I have a 3.5te 2 poster, which is OK , even for a high top T25 with an interior

You do not want the lift falling over on one side, some nasty pictures on the HSE website

Re: Vw birth certificate

It's based on manufacturing date

Registration date is a fallback, and that's where an 8 day grace period comes in.

Re: Various locks and keys question

You might have to dismantle the lock further to get the number off the barrel...... if it is marked at all.

Re: Coolant expansion tank completely empty.

He already has pink in

Add blue

You get chemical reaction and jelly..... at least that's my understanding

Re: Coolant expansion tank completely empty.

Didn't spot that they changed the coolant.

Don't mix types, if it's blue, then blue, if it's pink then pink

You don't want to be making jelly

Re: Coolant expansion tank completely empty.

Hmmm... again The coolant system works under pressure. You (given your current knowledge) should not remove either of the caps when the engine is running or hot. It is normal in those circumstances for a lot of hot coolant to come out. The header tank needs to be full to the brim Top up tank on full...

Re: Coolant expansion tank completely empty.

Hmm, I'm getting worried.

Man takes van in for a coolant problem, garage responds with a fuel system problem

Money spent, original problem remains
