How old is your battery?
They decay quickly and the time they hold charge decreases leaving you with a click or clunck.
Needs to be kept charged!

Re: 1980 T3 1600 ct stalling problems
Had this problem a few years ago, I think it was a tiny o ring on the mixture screw which had perished.

Re: Plastic wheel trims
You could go down the Rover p6 route, they’re always readily available. I got a set for under £15. https://i.imgur.com/ggp39ZL.jpg David. These are great. Fit well and shine up nicely. Had some on for about six years. I also have the plastic trims the van came with that you can have for postage Unm...

Re: Snapped bleed nipple.. what are my options?
In the past I have bled from the union into the wheel cylinder.
This was in an emergency as a new cylinder is only £15 or thereabouts.

Re: Clutch cable
I did the same some time ago.
I wouldn't have bothered if I hadn't been changing the engine and in hindsight I don't think it was worth the effort and expense.
Cable operated clutch was equally problem free.

Re: Aircooled exhaust replacement
When you remove the heat exchangers the hot air from the tubes goes straight up to your rocker covers.
I made some heat shields that fit between.
Not sure if there is an off the shelf solution.
The other drawback is heating.
I use a webasto.
