Re: Tailgate latch issue

Thanks both for all the advice :)

Strangely my push plate is more curved than the picture posted.

I am not the best with technology and can’t see how to post a video on here - or I can email if you send me email address ?

Thanks again

Re: Tailgate latch issue

Hi Aidan, Messing around with it this morning if I turn the key to vertical the barrel passes through the horseshoe shape lever (as it should). Key also turns to 2 0clock position and this moves the horseshoe shape lever (as it does when horizontal). The issue seems to my untrained eye to be none of...

Re: Tailgate latch issue

That would be great thanks :) I hope that fixes it as sounds a simple fix. The key/lock place is in the same position it’s always been though - horizontal. It is all very strange , not sure why I’m surprised every time - whenever I think I’m finished on the van some issue always pops out of nowhere :(

Tailgate latch issue

Hi all, Really hope someone can point me in the right direction please - I’ve spent hours on this today and got absolutely nowhere ! For some reason last week my boot would not open. It’s locks and unlocks but would not pop open most times. Took a look on here and so far have figures out that the ac...

Re: Passenger front cab actuator

Thanks Aidan,

Yes have given that a go and still getting no joy.

Sadly I think it’s just given up the ghost and will need replacing. Just try and fix what is possible where I can as original parts are so hard to come by nowadays.

Thanks again for the advice.

Passenger front cab actuator

Evening all, Hoping someone can shed a little light my way please. A couple of years ago I sourced and fitted an original set of actuators as most of mine had failed. Swapped them over and everything has been working fine since. Yesterday however the passenger door failed. Today I opened up the actu...

Re: Window seals and trims

Hi Julia,

No worries - his workshop is over near Thorpe Park. Spoke with him again today and he loved fixing up the van so much he has now bought his own one.

Where are you based? I can send you his number.

Cheers

Re: Tyre pressure / Porsche alloys

Sounds like great advice thanks. Will look at tyres and work it all out. Hopefully it won’t be an issue as could do without laying out for new wheels & tyres currently.

Thanks again

Re: Tyre pressure / Porsche alloys

Thanks for the reply but surely certain tyres can only take a certain amount of weight or psi pressure? I don’t know but just want to make sure I do not over inflate them.
Thanks

Tyre pressure / Porsche alloys

Hi all, Strange one really - my van I have had for quite sometime now came with Porsche alloys (spacers are fitted to accommodate them). Anyways I have relatively new tyres on them now - Hankook 205/55R16 94W on the front set & 225/50R16 96W on the rear set. Van has been away for a year for weld...

Front Floor pans & door steps

Evening all, I’m caught in 2 minds and hoping someone can educate me a little please. My van (caravelle 1989 1.9 petrol) is currently being worked on. Cutting out all rust and full re spray. The floor pans in the front (both sides) and steps (again both sides ) need totally replacing. I have to sour...

Re: Actuators

Hi all, Just an update on the actuators- they arrived from Germany and I fitted them today. They work great apart from I am missing a part on one which is annoying. On the drivers passenger door the gold bracket that attaches to the door seems to fit with 3 rivets - these have been busted off. Plus ...

Re: Window seals and trims

Hi All, Thanks for all the tips and advice. I am going to re use the old seals if possible and put back on using sealant as everyone is suggesting. There is only 1 small leak currently on the front passenger little corner window, so I assume the rest must be good. As for price Paule39 - a friend of ...
