Re: CU Aircooled engine conditioned- recommendations
Hi, I ended up paying top dollar for a full rebuild with quality parts for our 2.0 cu. I could get any guarantees that the recons I could buy wouldn't be built with sub standard or used parts. It's a minefield. Mine was re built over two years ago. I've been into europe twice one of the trips did ov...

Re: Oh dear. Sounds expensive.
That scooby conversion would be epic but I can't justify the time and cost Keith. This year is going to be full on with house stuff so the only attention the van will be getting is a new engine and, as you know! lol a new roof!

Lol. That would be nice but changing an air cooled to a TDI may just break me!

Re: Oh dear. Sounds expensive.
New engine or rebuild required! Nightmare. I knew at some point I would change the engine but hoped that it wouldn't be for a year or so.

Re Build or Re con??
Unfortunately I need a new engine! I won't go in to detail but long story short, repair nearly as mush as a change. So... My choice is a rebuild or a recon. Cost isn't that much different. The rebuild does come in a little more but my mechanic has pointed out that he has been using the same guy to r...

Oh dear. Sounds expensive.
Our van has been using lots of oil recently. Took her into my mechanic who has prepared me for the worse case scenario as I always want to know it! Let's hope it isn't an engine re build!!!!!
I somehow don't think I'm that lucky. Better start saving!

Re: So you replaced your fridge....
Hi,
I've changed to a CR50. It's excellent! More room in it and smaller than the old fridge! It's a tardis!
We thought about the draw version but went for the standard. It's significantly cheaper and feel the space is more usable.
Good luck!
Nik

Re: Should I just use brute force??
Just to update you all. Got the fridge out. It was an epic struggle. But I won in the end. It was secured by every method mentioned above and more! Think ill postpone the interior refit for a bit!
