Some say, that Kolbenschmidt (OEM Manufacter) will produce the bearings again. They will be avaiable approx. july this year.

I don't know if there are going to be more sizes than std.

One question: Which head casket rings did you use, or did you machined them?

Hi everyone,

a small update on this. I also asked on samba, and got some hints. Finally I wrote to 6 shops and maybe I found oversized bearings with standard crank i Wisconsin. At least you can get +0.5mm/-0.25mm in the states.

@ratty: Yes, patience in engine builds is first rule. My engine is waiting since May.....

Well, my engine has approx. 175.000 miles on it. The colour of the case right at the studs of the main bearing is greyish (one main indicator). Unfortunatly I don't have pix of my engine... Of course, if there is no hope, I'll have to... Unfortunately is this bearing also sold out by the mom...
