Re: Rear Light Cluster Question

Just updating this, the connectors do indeed just push in as advised above if anyone else comes across this issue. I used a little wd40 and left it for a couple of days and this worked, its a classic hasn't been moved in 40 years issue.

Rear Light Cluster Question

So I'm trying to remove the white connector from my rear light cluster having removed the outer lenses. The white rectangular connector block has six wires for the rear lights. The connector seems to be held in and I don't want to force it and break the cluster or connector. I can't see any tabs or ...

Re: Wheel Bearing Question

Just a quick update on this, Doug took a look yesterday and has done a great job with sorting out my front wheel bearings. Turned out the mobile mechanic had fitted a late wheel bearing on my early hub   Don't think I'll be using that guy again....

Re: Wheel Bearing Question

Thanks guys, the bearing is whining as it has the last couple of times (before being charged). When driving and on turning right the whine disappears. When jacked up there's play at 12 and 6 o'clock but not at 3 and 9 o'clock, hope that makes sense! I don't know what bearing was fitted but it came f...

Wheel Bearing Question

My osf wheel bearing has failed again, it's been replaced twice in the last two years. It's grumbling and has only has slight vertical play when jacked up, the van has done about 4k miles in the last two years. A friend suggested it might be a worn stub axle, so my question is should I get it replac...

Re: Early Coolant system metal cross pipe

I thought the OP was referring to the early coolant distribution pipe that crosses over the engine which is no longer available, I believe the part number is: 025 121 081. Which looks like this:

Re: Early Coolant system metal cross pipe

They've been discontinued for some years, some members on here have made their own but you'll be lucky to find a new one anywhere. I believe that a company was starting to produce them but the new pipes still needed refinement.

Thanks for the input, I think I'll try soldering to the bulb and joining the wires back to the ribbon. The rest of the ribbon is working ok, at the moment...

Dash Light Question

The dash light for my temp/fuel guages (on the right) has stopped working, looking closer the metal strip has disintegrated so there no power reaching the bulb. The ribbon to and around the bulb is intact. The rest of the dash ribbon is working so I'm just looking to fix this one bulb. Is there a bu...

Re: Rocker cover oil leak with new gaskets

Agree with the above, just smere some general purpose grease to the gasket and it will help it seal.
