Re: sluggish acceleration/ hesitation 1.9 DG

Carb has had a rebuild kit fitted by previous owner, though he doesn't appear to have used the entire kit. If you look at the pic of the kit on Brickwerks site almost everything in the bottom 2 rows hasn't been used.

Re: sluggish acceleration/ hesitation 1.9 DG

Just a thought. Could it just be the clutch slipping?

Re: sluggish acceleration/ hesitation 1.9 DG

Its out back I can smell fuel, no smell from near the tank and I think the fuel breathers have been replaced by previous owner. Its a late van so plastic filler neck, no danger of rot there, unlike the early polo's I had. Filler necks practically fell off those on removal, yet never had any running ...

Re: sluggish acceleration/ hesitation 1.9 DG

Well theres nothing wrong with the fuel pipes as they are all brand new top spec stuff, front to back. Already checked the vacuum pipes as I know from my MK2 Golf with a 2e2 fitted what issues even just one split pipe can cause! I can however, smell a faint wiff of fuel, but no visible leaks as chec...

sluggish acceleration/ hesitation 1.9 DG

Not really sure how to describe the issue I have but Got a 1.9 DG and it seems a bit on the sluggish side. Seems to hesitate when accelerating and almost judder, until you rev it hard enough to get onto the second choke, then it gets going. Its seems more noticeable at higher speeds and when you put...

Re: Changed Clutch slave. Won't bleed!

Was doing it the standard way as you do with brakes with a helper. Bought an easy bleed kit, but due to the nipple being so close to the bulkhead it kinked the pipe rendering it useless  . I kept the fluid above the outlets in reservoir so was seemingly doing everything right yet still don't h...

Changed Clutch slave. Won't bleed!

My clutch decided to stop working just sat there. So had a look and found the clutch slave was almost certaintly the problem as the rubber boot was full of fluid, which leaked out when squeezed. So I changed it and the metal and flexi pipes to it. Problem is, it now wont bleed. Could there be anothe...

What brake calipers do I have?! Help!

My brake calipers are looking very rusty (just like everything else) and either need a rebuild or replacement (like everything else) and also need new discs and pads etc. I have found there are 4 types; ATE and Girling, early and late of each. All I know is they are the early ones (square pads) but ...

Clutch woes

My bus is in storage at the moment while I try and (slowly) sort all the issues out. It hadn't moved for a few months then needed to get it out to move other cars around. Found I had no clutch. Sought advice and all pointed to slave cylinder which I checked and had definitely had it, as the rubber b...

Sensor on gearbox. What does it do? Mines not connected.

Changing my clutch slave cylinder today and noticed a sensor on the left side of the gearbox with 2 spade connections. However there is nothing connected to it? Then my dad noticed a loose wire, with two spade terminals on it, draped over the back of the gearbox, which I assume is the wires that go ...

Re: Rotten Inner Sill

Already been in touch with him a while back through brick yard forum about the boot lip area. I was supposed to find a time where he could take a look at it but I forgot as have been busy with shows and collecting parts  I want to get it running and driving first so it can actually make it to ...

Re: Rotten Inner Sill

Too dark in the unit to take a pic that's useful of underneath and it cant move as the clutch slave has gone, so no clutch and engines had it anyway. Only ones I have are these but inner lip is worse than outer lip you can see. Also can see holes in bottom of B post. Theres also a big hole in the si...
