oh dear :( You're right about rudolph, he had many different fuels in mind for his Diesel engine. They could also be built to run on coal dust, but don't expect to run a modern diesel on coal dust simply because Rudolf Diesel had it in mind as a potential fuel. Do a bit of research into running on s...

Have to 'chip in' and agree with other power about 10 - 20% unmodded. Not clever, eating plastic and rubber is nothing, cos pure veg oil on an unmodified engine eats pumps for breakfast. (not cheap) Very few vehicles have real natural rubber on em anyway, synthetic rubber is fine. Never heard of bio...

It's one thing if you've been tampering, but even 6 months out of warranty, it's not unreasonable for you to expect a stud head NOT to just 'pop off'!! So thats fair enough then. Or not, cos (deep breath): getting the stud out could prove to be such a nightmare as to justify getting another block in...

9 months of use doesnt really count, it's time (months) OR use (??? miles), and in your case its 18 months. Don't quote me on the stretch bolt theory, I think your engine is maybe not modern enough to use em, so it may be 'acceptable' to not replace. (Don't know a lot about the vee dub petrols, Im a...

Dude, like the man says, don't do it without a proper conversion job, you will kill your fuel pump (not cheap). Check out this post (and a few others on here) there's a ton of info on the web about running on veg oil WITHOUT killing your engine. http://archive.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=16836 It...

To clarify, it doesn't matter whether the bigger wheels are on the front or the back, its not good either way. When you say VC doesn't work, it depends on whether it is 'open' or 'locked'. If it's open, like Horza says, it shouldn't matter. If it's locked, then you need identical wheel circumference...

Hi there, artymax, what makes you think it's cracked? you don't tend to remove a gasket like that to check it, once it comes off, you tend to stick a new one on, regardless. Along with new stretch bolts, exhaust gasket, inlet gasket, etc. etc. Not wanting to sound mean, or put you off, but if you do...

Apart from drilling a hole in the body and fixing in a permanent mounting, such as at the top of the back door (best solution, but should be well thought through and properly done) a gutter mount will be most effective, The grub screws should give you an earth through the paint (if you go through th...
