Re: T25 water hose

The flange has to come off - it has rotted and the connection where the rubber pipe connects to has rotted away. I soaked the nuts in some spray that was supposed to make it easier to remove the nuts, but I could not budge them. I'm going to have to get the camper to a garage to get the work done. C...

Re: T25 water hose

Yes, I think the flange is rusted because the bolts are all rusted.
I'll order the parts and give it a go.
Thanks for your help.

Re: T25 water hose

Thanks for the reply.
Sounds like it could be difficult. I might have to pay someone to replace the hose for me.
Just difficult to get the van to a garage without any water running around the engine :)
Is there anyone in Preston area who could do this for me and I will pay you?
Cheers

T25 water hose

Hi all, My T25 1.9 petrol (1986) has developed a leak. I've managed to remove the rubber hose in question, but there seems to be some kind of bolts still connected to the point in the engine where the hose used to be. Does anyone know what hose part do I order and do I need any other bits? Thanks ht...

Temporay stop to buzzer of death

Hi, I just had my 1982 1.9 Petrol Hightop T25 in for it's MOT and it needed some work to the wiring. Since it had this work the buzzer of death oil sense is always buzzing. The mechanics at the garage said there is absolutely nothing wrong with the oil pressure (they tested it for me) and it needs t...

Re: Do I need a new alternator?

Quick update, this might help those who may be having similar problems with battery light flashing: I removed the alternator (what a job as it had a rounded nut) and I removed the brush pack and it was indeed worn and the spring loaded contacts were quite short, I also noticed the copper contacts on...

Re: Do I need a new alternator?

Thanks guys, I have ordered a brush pack - hopefully that will fix the alternator.

I think I may need a new battery because this battery has been layed up for quite some time. Will the battery most likley be kaput?
Any recommendations for a good battery?
Thanks.

Re: Do I need a new alternator?

sounds like its toast, does the dashlight stay on ? Not sure, the van got me home, but battery is now flat as a fluke again and van will not even attempt to start, so I can't see what the light is doing. When driving home the light went off(flickered every now and then), but if I stopped at lights ...

Do I need a new alternator?

Hi everyone, My VW T25 1.9 petrol (Hight top) has had the battery light come on and my battery became flat and the engine would not turn over. I called out roadside assistance and the mechanic put one of those jumper pack things on and the van started right away. He checked the voltage coming from t...

Re: Auto Electrician

Assuming it ran ok before you had the work done, take it straight back & get them to fix it FOC. Easier said than done :) I did ring them and let them know, but the general tone was a 'what has this got to do with us'. He just said do some testing on it to see if it is the alternator. I did ask...
