Diesel oil filler leak, plastic to metal pipe, JX engine
Hi Has anyone managed to separate the plastic filler tube from the metal filler pipe? It looks as if it should pull off, then I assume there will be an o-ring to replace to stop the oil weep from the union. I know Brickwerks stock a complete filler pipe but it seems a little excessive to replace the...

Re: JX to AHU 1Z MTDI engine conversion, what do I need
Thanks Aidan I don't know if you remember but you rebuilt my gearbox & front diff back in spring 2014. It was the blue (Busman) 16" Syncro with 6.17 diff & you fitted 1.14 & 0.75 3rd & 4th for me as well as a new viscous. I moved to BC Canada (with the van) 2.5 years ago & h...

Re: JX to AHU 1Z MTDI engine conversion, what do I need
Thanks for the info. I plan to get new injectors. glow plugs, clutch, oil & water pumps for reliability while the engine is out & fit the JX oil sump & pick up tube. Will the AHU flywheel & clutch fit in the diesel bell housing or will I need the JX pressure plate? My clutch is the ...

Rear wiper motor replacement from T4
I have a burned out rear wiper motor + worm gear & am looking for a replacement. The VW part No is 251 955 713A. Whilst looking for one I came across images of a T4 motor 701 955 713A which appears to be a mirror image of the T25 rear wiper motor / gears & is readily available. Has anyone tr...

advancing JX diesel injector timing
My JX engine was the sweetest runner I have known. I had my cylinder head replaced because of a crack ( JX cylinder heads are only good for about 150k miles). I had new (reconditioned) injectors & new glow plugs. The mechanic told me that the injection timing was not standard & that it had n...

Re: Oil in air intake hoses and turbo kkk k14
I had the same problem with the BOV operating at full throttle (Turbo is marked AIResearch which I believe is Garrett) Freeing the waste gate was possible without removing the turbo A 16mm open ended spanner will grip the waste gate lever from above or below I used a good dose of penetrating oil (wh...

Re: Westfalia pop top fitter?
The only roof conversion I've seen used just the tin section of the Westfalia roof, not the roof down to the gutter
Is that what you keen bu using the Westfalia roof?

Westfalia pop top fitter?
Has anyone had a Westfalia pop top fitted by someone they can recommend?
I have a donor roof on a van in Surrrey that I want on my 16” syncro.
I don’t mind helping out but am looking for someone with experience and garage space.
