Re: Replacement Engine.
Considering my camper is a T 25 1.9l petrol DG engine with a 4 speed gearbox, is it time to maybe consider a diesel conversion?? I've just put a Skoda aef 1.9d in mine and I'm pretty pleased with it. Managed to get one with a verified 65,000 miles on it and it's really quiet and a big improvement o...

Re: Replacement Engine.
I’d take an engine off Andrew without a warranty any day. What about waiting for someone to offer up an engine on here, they come up from time to time, they just swap them over and sell the old one. Like I said, I,m considering all my options at the moment, and have been in contact with a couple on...

Re: Replacement Engine.
DIY: You won’t know what you need until you pull it apart. Then I suggest refer to one of Itchyfeet or Silverbullets engine build threads for more specific information. Who knows, may just need piston rings and a gasket set. Outsource: I would ring Andrew at Campershack for a guaranteed quality eng...

Re: Replacement Engine.
What manufacture parts, pistons, barrels, heads lifters ect should I be speccing to get my tired old 1.9 l back up to par, whether I consider building it my self, or giving it out to a shop. Quick look for parts on the web seems to me to be more cheap tat available than reputable stuff for the 1.9 in...

Re: Replacement Engine.
I did. Small drop of oil down no 3 cold, brought it up to 125 psi from 95 psi. Ran the engine for 5 minutes, then checked no3 again, and surprisingly still only 125 psi. I would have thought it would have gone up a bit after 5 minutes. Coupled with more smoke that a lit oil well after operation dese...

Replacement Engine.
I think I might be coming to the point where I need a replacement engine. My own is the dirtiest engine on startup for 10 minutes, then its not as bad. Oil consumption is up, and cylinder pressures are well below par. Cyl 1....125 Psi. Cyl 2 ... 125 Psi. Cyl 3 ...95 Psi. Cyl 4...95 Psi. So I have pr...
