Had 2 years of similar experience and it was a rusty earth on ECU , in front of rear light cluster

Perhaps I missed this earth location, is it the same on syncro and 2wd? Is it in front of the drivers side rear light or passenger side?

Re: 2.1 DJ: Intermittent starting fault

Does the LPG system work? Only I noticed you said you towed the van home. Depending on the system, you might have been able to force start it on gas. That would be a very useful diagnostic step, as it would test the ignition system separately, and allow a bit more logical deduction. Sent from my ON...

2.1 DJ: Intermittent starting fault

This problem has recently crept into my van, it has been working perfectly for some time. 1988 DJ Syncro on the original injection. A while back, I stopped the van after a drive only to come back and find that it would not start. It would turn over but it would not fire. The plugs were dry, it was n...

Re: 2.1 DJ Digijet ItchyInfo

anyone have any first hand experiences of converting a DJ to carb?

Just wondering would there much of a drop in power and fuel efficiency going from an old school injection to carb. I currently have a standard fuel injected DJ running LPG

Re: 2.1 DJ massively overfuelling - AFM culprit perhaps?

Hi, Just to follow up and close off the discussion. I solved the issue. It turns out that the AFM was completely out of calibration. The van has an LPG system. The previous owner had mentioned that they changed the AFM at some stage. I suspect the replacement AFM had been fiddled with or was from a ...

Re: Coolant issue

I'm not 100% sure how it should be but on my cars it's always been in the middle when everything is working. Going uphill, having heavy load or driving in hot weather normally make the needle rest just right off the led instead of in the middle, having the front and rear heater blowing makes it go ...

Re: Coolant issue

Hi guys, I dont mean to deviate from the original purpose of the thread but where on the coolant gauge do DJ engines normally sit. When sitting at an idle mine sits at 2/3 up the gauge. I also have an 80 degree thermostat

Or this even: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Tn8dyzn9a4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Wish I'd seen it earlier as I still have a puzzle with my DJ. Under what circumstances did this problem arrive or has it been that way since acquisition? BTW I assume you have run the ...

2.1 DJ massively overfuelling - AFM culprit perhaps?

Hi guys, I was wondering if you could weigh in on this if you have experience with digijet overfuelling. I have a 1988 van with a 2.1 DJ. The van idles rough and lumpy and is incredibly rich both cold and hot. grey smoke and smell of petrol, sooty plugs. Here is what we have tested/changed: We compr...

Re: New Units

A friend of mine dismantled his old camper interior, then bought a few sheets of film faced ply, used the old pieces of furniture as templates and replicated each panel using the new film faced ply, then reassembled it. He also had the tool required to cut the channel out of the edge of the panels t...
