Re: blue or pink coolant
It doesn't matter which antifreeze you use, never has, so long as it's replaced at the correct intervals, poor earth's will cause more damage to the head studs than using the "wrong" antifreeze by causing the coolant to turn acidic, the ph level of your coolant should be checked regularly,...

Re: 1.6 JX Cooling System Issue
The caps supplies with the new tanks are only fit for the bin, a pressure tester is handy for bleeding the system, but you would be better to spend the money on a decent cap first.

Re: starting problem: refuses to start sometimes
Not at all, if the issue seems to show itself when it's damp, then make it damp and actually trace the issue rather than guess, throw parts at it and hope it starts when you need it to, if making it damp makes no difference then you.know you need to keep looking.

Re: starting problem: refuses to start sometimes
If the issue is ignition related the easiest way to find it is to use a spray bottle filled with water on the mist setting, spray over distributor cap, leads etc the problem will soon make itself known.

Re: Improving Bodywork Earth
Connect your volt meter to the battery - ve terminal and a suitable place on the bodywork, the tail gate striker pin is usually a good spot, now switch on the lights, heater and wipers and observe you voltage reading, if it's less than approx 0.3 volts concentrate on the supply to the fuse box, you ...

Re: Fuel tank breathers question
The breather tanks are also there for safety the same as the non return valve in the return hose on vans fitted with carbs that people remove "because they don't do anything". The breather tanks house the valves that close the tank off in the event that the van ends up on it's side or roof...

Re: Manifold Heater problem. 1.9 WBX early
The manifold heater won't be the cause of the voltage drop, it's pulling the voltage down because the power supply to it cannot supply the power due to high resistance in the cables or a connector, don't forget that a relay itself is a connection. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180216/69e6dceee5...

Re: devon canvas roof replacement
I have a proud to pop bellows on my Devon roof, the fit is terrible, it's too big on all sides so I had about 100mm to loose, the old bellows had loops fitted to hold the aluminium bars, the proud to pop offering has 2 webs that are separate from the bellows, it makes lowering the roof a pain, after...

Taking the wheel off makes it easier, undo the bolt through the bush and Jack up the wheel end of the track control arm.
