Thanks - I have the ATE ones. The bars are held in via the plastic sleeve which compresses. The springs are cross shaped and are held underneath the bars to apply a small amount of pressure to the pads, but keep snapping in the middle.

Hi - has anyone else had a problem with brake pad spring clips breaking all the time? Am I missing something?!
