Re: Viking roof lining.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply's.
Yes it's the perforated vinyl in the fiberglass roof I was asking about.
I'd come across the stuff as sold on ebay when searching before but I was wondering if there was anywhere that done a direct replacement.
Thanks again.

Viking roof lining.

Hello,
is there anywhere that do a replacement headlining for the pop top part of the super Viking roof?
Mine's moldy and ripped.
If there isn't a replacement, what's been done to overcome this problem?
Any help/advice will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

It's B that's missing off one of mine as for A I'm sure it's got them, unfortunately I've put it back together and back on the van so unable to check tonight. Looking at your photo the spring at the bottom seems to be more extended than mine, if A is missing that might explain things. PS do you have...

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

Thanks again bigherb. Could you have another look at the photo of distributor, the spring at the top has a gap between the lug and the hook on the spring, should both springs be the same? I don't think the piece of metal I found on the magnet is anything to do with the spring, it's to thin. I've als...

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

The springs do come off, you just have to be careful that you don't break the plastic lugs that the springs fit over!! :) OK, but finding replacement spring is proving to be a mare. Just had a search and I can't find anything, do you know if the springs out of other distributors are the same? Proba...

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

Hello, gave it a week of trying to oil the distributor in case it was seized but no joy so decided to strip it down today. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a610/zxr750l1/vw113_zpse930f355.jpg http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a610/zxr750l1/vw114_zpscf4b7908.jpg It wasn't seized but there someth...

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

After you take off the circlip. There is a pin locking the rotor in place. It fits downwards along the line of the shaft. This is where a small pick is handy to get it out. Maybe this'll make it clearer. http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b435/Hotel-BOXY/DizzieHaynes_zpsc68b79f2.jpg [/quote] Thanks...

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

There is a circlip on the center shaft that looks like it holds the metal disc on, which I removed and tried to pries it off but didn't want to force it to much, that's why I asked if there was any special tools needed like some sort of puller. All I want to do is check the springs.

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

Excellent stuff, thanks for the pics. I'm obviously going to try the simple things first oiling and then check the springs. Is there any special tools needed to gain access to the springs?

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

Is it fixable? The advance is working, when I suck on the pipes it moves both ways and holds in place when there blocked.

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

Yes, the only change is it drops past 28 has the revs are picking up around 1500 to 2000, let the revs off it move about a bit then rests at 28.

Re: 2.0L CU timing problem.

OK, just tried that, what's happening is, has it's picking up revs with vac lines off it go's past 28 then at high revs hits 28 and stop there, it's still 28 at idle with vac line off and 16 deg BTDC with them on. It doesn't run as well as it did with the distributor turned anti CW.
