Re: 1y running lumpy and wont rev
SORTED!!!!, there seemed to be air getting in somewhere, as I bled it an it ran better for a minute then back to normal. The ford filter with primer was faulty and letting in air via a minute crack, I swapped it for the cheapo version filter and used my balloon primer, started first time and runs sw...

Re: 1y running lumpy and wont rev

Re: 1y running lumpy and wont rev
If it is air still in the system, where would the best place be to bleed it out? To bleed originally, I primed the diesel up with the filter pump, the cranked and opened the injector pipes at the injectors, when bubbles stopped I closed them and it started. Then with it running repeated bleeding the...

Re: 1y running lumpy and wont rev
I have adjusted the throttle stop thinking that was possibly why I could not get higher revs, but it was to no avail!, did not touch any other screws, dont even know where to find the fuelling screw. Do you know what type of pump it is?

Re: 1y running lumpy and wont rev
Not sure how to upload photos, but here is an address to see them http://s1262.photobucket.com/user/celtic4x4/media/boatdieselpump003.jpg.html The pipe on the top of the pump with the injector return pipe attached is the return to the tank, and the pipe at the front with the bigger bore is the feed ...

Re: 1y running lumpy and wont rev
Ford style primer, also used the small clear inline filter in the return to be able to see the fuel being primed. No idea what sort of pump it is, the whole engine was painted white, cant see any plates or numbers. The pipes were not taken off totally, just loosened to bled so presume they are right...

Re: 1y running lumpy and wont rev
Yes, engine in boat, filter worked a treat except running lumpy and what seems like choked revs, did not change cam belt, would one tooth out give these symptoms and is it an easy to change job?

1y running lumpy and wont rev
new 1y 1.9 diesel installation, previous history unknown, got it bled and running, problem is it sounds like it is on 3 cylinders and will not rev more than about 2000 rpm, with tons of blue/white smoke. When running if you loosen any of the pipe injectors the engine runs even more lumpy which I rec...

Re: 1Y 1.9 diesel pump pipe help ?
I am using flexible hoses, not the copper ones, I run the boat on River Bann in Northern Ireland, it flows out to the sea and we can get the best of both worlds :D . Tomorrow I will go hunting for the water trap filter and possibly a hand primer balloon. I am thinking of the hand primer placed in th...

Re: 1Y 1.9 diesel pump pipe help ?
Thanks for your reply.
Can you get a "standard" aftermarket fuel filter with water drain?
The tank is only about 2 feet from the pump and when full the top level of diesel would be about 4 inches lower than the pump and at lowest about 16 inches.
