Take it for a 30 min run before you go in.
1, the bearings will heat up & expand and won’t wobble so much
2, your emissions won’t be rich either as you’ll be fully off choke.

HaHa!
Yeah - they are very expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.
Any other ideas, what are people using?
What do you use for the support bars too? Bit of box aluminium?

If the choke flap is fully open when warm, you can then unscrew the jets and give them a clean. Once you’ve done the above checks first. Definitely air or fuel issue, not ignition so don’t mess with the dizzy coil or spark plugs. In my experience it’s 90% air/fuel not electrical. Coln Engineering wi...

Re: Running rough after sitting for 3 months
Just let it run for 30 mins at idle, get it hot. The tappets just need some oil and it’ll settle. Then give it a good run, it’ll be ok.

Re: No output from Alternator to rev counter
My rev counter is fed from the negative pin on the coil. Not sure what the alternator has to with that signal. Could be a workaround for you though.

Re: Oil pressure switch
You’ll need a long 24mm socket. You can do it with normal length socket you just can’t ‘house’ the ratchet lever because the spade terminal from the sensor will be there.

Backfire/misfire sounds like its running on 3

Spark plugs should be a rusty brown colour. See Haynes manual for the pictures. £5 + clips, is the fuel filter clean? - cha...

Nice to get to the regulator, the untimely death of many a alternator unnecessarily. The heavens have opened but Club 80-90 are still building engines [emoji943][emoji1303]
