Re: Solar Panel to charge Leisure battery
Mine just puts in enough to stop the batteries `natural' drop. It doesn't seem to add anything above what is there, but keeps it where it is. hope this makea a bit of sense.

Re: fitting central locking
Hi I didn't do a T25, but did fit into my old scirocco, quite easy really, once you get the door card off, get all the bits in front of you, it should make a bit more sense. I had to cut a 40mm hole in the door frame to physically get the solenoid in situ, that was the most daunting bit and you may ...

Re: Just bought an elevating roof...now how do I fit it ?
Hi I also have one of these to fit, and have the same scenario, I also have to `re-make' the top bit as it has collapsed (wet chipboard!!), this isn't much of a problem as I am quite handy with GRP and I reckon I can make a `better than standard' one'. I probably wont be fitting mine untill spring, ...

First question then, does anyone know more than the bluespot teccies?? Secondly,...

Re: scirocco 5th gear jumper
Hi Same gearboxes in loads of Montego's...... Thats where my replacement came from when mine jumped out of 5th at 80mph. I didn't believe the greasy handed man either, but I saw it come from the leyland beast with my own eyes. I think I gave £20 for the box, cheapest from a VW breaker at the time wa...

Re: My new seats , repair advice needed
Hi I painted my Blue leather Scirocco seats with black leather spray, from the local shoe menders, a good clean with acetone first, not as harsh as thinners (generally) I used 2 cans and did both fronts and rears, after 2 years, the blue is just starting to peek through in high wear areas, so a quic...

I look forward to the pics Weldore, looking for something for ours.
Bought the playstation, just want something to watch it with, seems that a torch pointing upwards with the film betwixt your fingers doesn't work anymore!!! (younger'uns won't know about this! !)

Hi
If they are of the same grade, there should be no problem, built boats for years, only used 316, never had a problem, even with the salt water., squirt of oily stuff will never hurt anyway.

Roof rails
Hi
Has anyone fitted roof rails, in a hearse/Volvo style! don't want a permanent roof rack, and whilst I have no roof lining, now would be the time.
Volvo 740/850 type ones look nice and `flat' so could work, no idea how they fit though.
Any ideas??

Re: Windscreen removal
Cool, found it now, seems like you take the glass and seal out of the hole then, not the glass from the seal, shall have a go tomorrow, wish me luck
Unfortunately, mine are the ones without beading, I imagine they are so much easier, they were on the side windows that I took out this morning!!

Hi I want to remove my front and rear screens prior to paint prepping, anyone got any tips, I can cut the ones on my van, but want to save the seals on the `doner' van. (I would also quite like to not break the glass!!) Done a search on the WIKI, but nothing appeared. They are all rubber seals, no c...

Re: Sealing up a sunroof
Hi Should be ok with the bathroom sealant, as long as its silicone based, don't use it if its not, wont last. Put a bead on the seal before you close it for the last time, then apply liberally, wet your finger (spit is ideal) before working the gunk arount the joint (or use a pair of `bottom inspect...
