Re: Wheel bearing help, My brain has disolved!

Yes! Just buy the best quality bearing from Brickwerks and use bearing seal. The housings do wear, and there is a limit to how sloppy they can get and still be usable though. I will no doubt still get the advisory on the MOT at some point, but that is so common that I’d choose to judge for myself if...

Re: Compost Camper

Yeah Matt. Matties van rings a bell. I’m pretty sure I found some of your photos of when it was shiny! I bought it from Andy? In Nottingham who had given up on it after repeated head gasket failures. Did it have the enormous plywood box in the back when you had it? Unfortunately although the van was...

It's in the shopping basket! Brickwerks are quite close, but got nothing to drive there in.

Re: Wheel bearing help, My brain has disolved!

Should have shopped at Brickwerks!!! I get most bits from them for a reason. Meyle have always seemed "ok" but this amount of play is ridiculous. Hence why I suspect another (additional?) Issue. I'd shelve it till we get back from holiday but the water pump has failed on our audi and it's ...

Wheel bearing help, My brain has disolved!

Need brains for rear wheel bearing issue. I got an advisory on one rear wheel bearing having excessive play. Didn't have to do it for the mot test but thought what the hell, get it done while overhauling the brakes. Re test tomorrow, test up next week and holiday Friday so have to sort quick. Replac...

Might be a silly question, but how does he weld the top half of the rear vertical seam?

Re: Webasto retrofit...

Did you find a manual for it? Spotted this earlier amongst other stuff. And in English.

Not sure if it has enough detail but the basics are there.

Re: Webasto retrofit...

Once you've simplified the wiring, your timer should function as an on off switch. Your heater will self regulate to some extent anyway. I fitted a DBW46 to mine and used a pipe connector that came with it. It' a sort of double T with a bleed through, that diverts the coolant from the hot feed pipe ...

Re: 1.6 TD ? jx Intermediate pulley.

As in title, intermediate pulley. or oil pump pulley or idler pulley. The one driven by the smooth side/back of the cambelt. They come with a ridge around the outide or with no ridge. https://www.mecatechnic.com/en-GB/intermediate-distribution-pulley-for-transporter-t3-dtd_KC35810.htm" onclick=...

1.6 TD ? jx Intermediate pulley.

Anyone know if pulleys with and without the ridge around the edge are interchangeable, or why they are different. Mine has the ridge which is damaged and wearing the belt. Can they be swapped or even have the ridge ground off?

Tim.

Are we talking epoxy in an aerosol? I didn't know such a thing existed. Have you got any links? It would be really handy for paint as you repair.

Re: any metal fabrication people on here

What's the end use? I used to make one off architectural stuff like domes and more sculptural things years ago. For that sort of tolerance in box you would need a specialist bender with all the kit.

Re: any metal fabrication people on here

All depends on the radius and how accurate you want to be. A gentle bend over a long length can be done over a former. Go too tight and it just buckles. Specialist benders can go to quite a tight radius but have specialist machinery to do it.
