Re: Wheel bearing help, My brain has disolved!

It's in the shopping basket! Brickwerks are quite close, but got nothing to drive there in.

Re: Wheel bearing help, My brain has disolved!

Should have shopped at Brickwerks!!! I get most bits from them for a reason. Meyle have always seemed "ok" but this amount of play is ridiculous. Hence why I suspect another (additional?) Issue. I'd shelve it till we get back from holiday but the water pump has failed on our audi and it's a pig to r...

Wheel bearing help, My brain has disolved!

Need brains for rear wheel bearing issue. I got an advisory on one rear wheel bearing having excessive play. Didn't have to do it for the mot test but thought what the hell, get it done while overhauling the brakes. Re test tomorrow, test up next week and holiday Friday so have to sort quick. Replac...

Re: 1986 syncro Caravelle twin slider

Might be a silly question, but how does he weld the top half of the rear vertical seam?

Re: Webasto retrofit...

Did you find a manual for it? Spotted this earlier amongst other stuff. And in English.

Not sure if it has enough detail but the basics are there.

Re: Webasto retrofit...

Once you've simplified the wiring, your timer should function as an on off switch. Your heater will self regulate to some extent anyway. I fitted a DBW46 to mine and used a pipe connector that came with it. It' a sort of double T with a bleed through, that diverts the coolant from the hot feed pipe ...

Re: Full length poptop

They weren't necessarily built together. I'd imagine they would have had a few orders off the back of the show vehicle. But as with T5s/6s today the average age of a van conversion is probably ten tears old or something like that. When you look at what they still do, a lot of the work they did was b...

Re: Full length poptop

Thanks for that Garry. An interesting read. Do you have a different picture of the full length vertical lift? There's one further back in this thread from the outside. Some inside pictures would be great. I'm coming round to the vertical lift idea a bit.

Re: Full length poptop

Our twins would love that. It's a big old lump though. I want lots of cake and I want to eat it all. Low profile, big space, lots of headroom. lots of storage when camped, low weight................

Re: Full length poptop

More than one person standing in a metre square box is definitely a crowd. The possibility of two shorter roof beds when needed (three boys). Much less claustrophobic. And just a much more flexible space. I'd rather keep the rear frame if it was a straight choice of one or the other. Have I convince...

Re: Full length poptop

Yeah, that's what has stopped me so far. There are plenty of Trakkas out there with it all cut, to seemingly no ill effect, and quite a few of them are Syncros! I would want something reasonably substantial around the perimeter of the hole, Particularly round the cab. If the top itself could also ha...

Re: Full length poptop

That's my ultimate plan. Something with tintop looks, but a practical full length poptop.

Re: Full length poptop

Trakka's are cool!!!
Along with the Special Mobils vans, they've inspired me to one day take the plunge and make the big cut.

Re: Full length poptop

Just do this!

Then chop out all your roof and support structure.
Easy!
